Blogmas Day 28: Christmas Eve At The City

On Christmas eve day we typically stay in bed and watch Christmas movies under a warm blanket. Well, this year, I had to change my plans because I decided to make an appointment to see my psychologist after not seeing her for five months. So, at about five a.m. I wake up mum helped me dress, and we were on our way to the hospital my mum reminded me that I had to get my blood drawn because as you guys know my liver isn’t doing that great so I have to get tested for the next five months. So, I got that done and went to wait for my session.

On our way home, my mum asked me if I wanted to go to Valletta (Malta’s Capital City) to see the Christmas lights and I said yes why not. My mum told me to call my sister and ask her to come with us and she said yes. As I got home, I went straight to bed and slept. I don’t know if it’s just my cerebral palsy, but I get exhausted after having to talk for a more extended time. So, from one till four pm, I napped. Mum made me some toast and after I ate. It was to time to drive to the city, which is about a 30-minute drive from where I live.

Not going to lie, I was surprised how wheelchair friendly the city was at least where the decorations were, which meant that I could enjoy the season with my family which is something I don’t get to do a ton. The lights gave a feeling of magic which makes you smile. I usually get pretty anxious at an event with lots of people because people at me and I don’t know if they’re staring because they are trying to guess my gender or cause I’m a wheelchair user. However, this time around, I took my dog Yoka with me which kept my anxiety at bay.

For dinner, we went to burger king which isn’t something we do very often as a fact that was the second time that I ate at a burger king restaurant and lucky they let me bring my dog in with me, and that’s bonus points in my eyes. I was a bit disappointed that the menu held a pretty limited when it comes to non-meat items. When we went out again, it was pretty chilly and my body started spasming so we drove back dressed for bed and you guessed it I slept.
