A Note On Creativity

Does this happen to you, too? You get a memory for long ago out of nowhere, which is what led me to this post. Back in my late teens, my dream was to do something with content/writing for a living. So, it sounded cool to help a local singer at the time, writing tips. It was because I had a crush on him more than anything. Anyway, back to the topic of creativity, one of the tips I gave was that you can create anything from anything if you put your mind to it. I gave the randomness of examples: the bathroom. Everyone needs to use it, but at the same time, I don’t know how many times you have a crying session in there, since that’s the only time you have by yourself.

He didn’t get it back then, but I’m hoping you do. I wanted to make two points with that: we all have creativity, but some know how to work it better than others; but if you know how to use it, it comes in handy when you least expect it. The next thing will be a bit of a debate. If you use ChatGPT to inspire you, but it guides you to another idea of your own, would that be creativity or not? It’s a grey area since it didn’t start as such, but I believe it ends up being.

I will end this with some tips I use when I’m completely blank. For writers, it is the famous writer’s block, even if some believe it’s not a thing. The culture you grow up in helps you with flow and a sense of uniqueness to your writing. Say you use a traditional recipe or food that is milk-based. You can go the nutrition route, the history of milk, how it is made, maybe what can be used instead or the cultural value to you. Creativity can be messy, but never fake.
