That was scary; I thought Kindle, AKA Amazon, had taken away the 5,000 books I collected in the last 10 years since it was in the summer of 2015 that I discovered that you get free books on Kindle. I used to get anything I could get my hands on since it was free, which was what mattered to me, being that I was unemployed. Apart from that, I used books as a tool for the relief of anxiety and other things. I’m going to be honest: tonight isn’t ideal for blogging or listening to a book because I have a headache, but as you can guess, I’m doing both. Coffee Addicted Writer is hosting this meme. They pick a bookish question weekly every Friday, and everyone can give their point of view.
28th – 6th -How much time does blogging take out of your life weekly? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer). I found this topic super interesting when I saw it this morning, but I haven’t had much time to think about it as I’m typing.
I started blogging when I worked in the morning, so after finishing my workday, I would look at emails, which were about 100 daily, because I followed about 20 blogs soaking wet. Now, I follow around 2,000 and want to add more creators to the list when I get some time. When I started, I would find a quote or come up with a writing prompt, and I would call it a day. The longer I had been blogging, the better I wanted to get.
One thing that more pro bloggers tell you is that you want to write a post with 500 words or more for it to be anywhere on Google. From someone who has been doing this for years, I don’t think this is the case. I do write longer posts now, but typically, a poem that has about 30 words can give me double the amount of views. Mind you, that poem takes me about 5 minutes to do, and the other content hours, if not days.
Nowadays, I mainly blog on the weekend because between checking emails and working, I’m wiped out. I love that things like book tags are coming back into the blogging world, or at least I’m seeing them more in my content feed. The sad part is that even when the number of views is high, the site is still earning zero.
