First of all, I need to apologise: even though I love seeing and liking everyone’s content, I got anxious about having so much to do on top of being sick, so I chose my health and blogging over emails. I was listening to the song “A Good Example of Love ” by Alexia Jayy; I wanted to put the lyrics like I typically do, but I couldn’t find them anywhere. This might sound wild, but in my opinion, human emotions shouldn’t be taught based on gender. Kids should be loved equally and in the same way. I might not be putting my words right, but I’m someone who was viewed by society as female for nearly 21 years, so I was put in those roles even when I was very young.
Two examples I thought about a lot are how we were divided by gender to wait in line at school and how I wasn’t allowed to play with cars or anything that was considered a boy toy. As a kid, I thought my dad didn’t want to love me, which hurts me to admit, but as an adult I know my dad was cared for by my grandma, but that doesn’t mean the same as being loved. I’m not blaming my dad or my grandma; my dad lost his father when he was 2, so he grew up without one.
Love Me:
Love me, love me as I deserve
But I don’t blame you
If you don’t know how
Because that doesn’t mean
You don’t want to
But you were asked to run
Before you could walk
My father will never see or read this, but since you are, go show love in the world because life has bad odds as it is.
