My first idea was to pick some AI-generated music and then write poetry from my head, but I thought I would be judged for it. My next idea was to write a poem, then ask AI to produce a poem on the same topic and then ask you to decide which is which. Did I test it before I started writing this down? No, so this might never see the light of day, but if it does, I wanted to clarify that I never used AI to write posts; I wanted to experience and remind myself that even if it looks real, it doesn’t mean it is. I chose the topic of gay love/relationships.
Poem 1:
I never knew that love could feel,
Like something broken learning to heal.
Until your eyes met mine one day,
And all my fears just slipped away.
They told us love should look one way,
That hearts like ours should hide away.
But how can something so pure be wrong,
When you’re the reason my heart beats strong?
I love you in the quiet hours,
In midnight talks and April showers.
In every laugh, in every fight,
In holding you a little more tight.
I love the way you say my name,
The way you hold me through the rain.
The way your hand fits into mine,
As if our souls were intertwined.
And maybe the world won’t understand,
Why I feel home when you hold my hand.
But they don’t see the peace I find,
When your heartbeat dances close to mine.
I don’t need a fairytale or a perfect sky,
Just you beside me as the years go by.
Through changing seasons, through highs and lows,
You’re still the garden where my love grows.
And if someday our hair turns grey,
I’ll love you just as much that day.
I’ll kiss your forehead, hold you near,
And thank the stars that brought you here.
Because loving you was never a phase,
Not a fleeting spark, not a passing craze.
It’s the bravest truth I’ve ever known,
A kind of love that’s ours alone.
So let them talk, and let them stare,
I’ll choose you still, I’ll always care.
For in a world so vast and wide,
You’re the boy I love, my home, my pride.
And if I had a thousand lives to live,
A thousand hearts, a thousand chances to give,
I’d find you in every lifetime, it’s true—
And in every single one, I’d fall in love with you.
Poem 2:
I can’t wait to escape
All I’ve ever known
Just to love you in freedom
With the hope that time will change
In our homeland
So that we can return as one
To the place we’ve ever known
The place which shaped our lives
I feel that if you know my style, you’ll know which one is mine, but leave your guesses in the comments, and within a week I will let you know if you guessed correctly. If you want me to test more writing, leave your idea below, and I will figure out a way to test it.
See, I know your style bc I’ve read your other poems, but for this one, it’s sort of hard to guess bc they’re not the same length, and I feel like it leaves out nuances that might distinguish them. It also depends on what prompts you gave AI.
