I’m not happy with myself since outside of listening to two books, and then listening to music, which helps with this post, but sadly, the rest was spent with my thoughts and the dogs who don’t want to leave my side. In this week’s new releases playlist, there were a few I could use, but if I’m not mistaken, some were covers, which was interesting in my ear.
The first one I enjoyed was “Perfect” by Texas Teddybear, which, for whatever reason, I can’t find much of their music. If it is found on a Spotify playlist, it can’t be AI, right? The next song I vibed with its beat was Kumbaya by JERUB. On second thought, I’m using it as my song today. Since re-listening to the lyrics, I can relate. On New Year’s, I got many well wishes, but from the one person I needed them from. When that person got back to me, and I told them why I was worried, they told me I had attachment issues.
Kumbaya Lyrics:
Rain falling on a lonely night
Just waiting on the sun to rise
Come morning and my tears are dry
Still praying it will be alright
I’m supposed to stay strong
Heaven knows I try
They got me singing kumbaya but I don’t
know what it means
Cause I’ve been to the moon and back but I
still can’t find release
Now every time I close my eyes, It’s so clear
to see
Where you are is where I want to be
Water flows to the lowest place
I’m holding on till I see your face
No colours only shades of gray
My heart’s calling for a warm embrace
I’m supposed to stay strong
Heaven knows I try
They got me singing kumbaya but I don’t
know what it means
Cause I’ve been to the moon and back but I
still can’t find release
Now every time I close my eyes, It’s so clear
to see
Where you are is where I want to be
Whatever happens I want you to promise
You’ll hold me close and don’t let go
Whatever happens I want you to promise
You’ll hold me close and don’t let go
They got me singing kumbaya but I don’t
know what it means
Cause I’ve been to the moon and back but I
still can’t find release
Now every time I close my eyes, It’s so clear
to see
Where you are is where I want to be
Text
All I needed was
A text saying you are okay
But you took it against me
Because I thought of you
I will try not to care
Even if my heart doesn’t know
