Before I start venting on music and lyrics, I want to say that there may be a chance that there won’t be a post on a daily basis. Dealing with some stuff, and I fear it would trigger me. By the way, am I the only one who wastes a ton of time watching The Voice blind auditions? I’m unsure why I enjoy them so much. Back in the day, I spent hours listening to cover versions on YouTube before Spotify came along. For whatever reason, I can’t find a playlist I like with covers on Spotify, so if you have any recommendations, let me know, please.
I listened to the whole new release playlist, and there are two songs I would like to highlight: a cover version of I Wanna Dance with Somebody that was produced with some vocals of Whitney Houston from the original, but in a duet with Calum Scott, which gave me goosebumps. The other is Everything Is Going to Be Fine by ChildPets Galore, and in reality, I was going to feature this one until I couldn’t find the lyrics anywhere. On top of that, the only video I found has the comments disabled, which made me fear it is AI-related.
Right when I was about to give up for this week, I found a song that isn’t a new release, but it is new to me since I had never heard of the artist before. The song is Best Friend for Life by Grace Leer. As you can tell, it is about best friends, and she wrote it for her best friend’s wedding. My thought with this song is bittersweet, since it reminded me of the love animals always have for us. However, on the other side, the memory of how the only ‘best friend’ I had at school became my biggest bully, and she knew how to hit me, knowing all my secrets.
