Six Powerful Quotes For Pride Month

I have been unsure for a few days whether I should write this post. In fact, I was going to do it last Wednesday but didn’t. However, I can’t let it go. I’m referring to inspirational quotes that relate to the LGBTI+ community. By the way, am I the only one who has a hard time deciding how many letters to add to LGBTI+ to have the correct representation? In the dedication of Dear Life, I have eight. Here are some quotes that are good to have on bad days. Remember, you aren’t alone, and everyone’s story is valuable for others to learn from.

“There will not be a magic day when we wake up and it’s now okay to express ourselves publicly. We make that day by doing things publicly until it’s simply the way things are.” – Tammy Baldwin.

“What is straight? A line can be straight, or a street, but the human heart, oh, no, it’s curved like a road through mountains.” — Tennessee Williams

“I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept.” — Angela Davis.

“When you put love out in the world, it travels, and it can touch people and reach people in ways that we never even expected.” — Laverne Cox.

“Being transgender is not just a medical transition. It’s discovering who you are, living your life authentically, loving yourself, and spreading that love towards other people and accepting one another, no matter the difference.” – Jazz Jennings.

“Gender is not what people look like to other people; it is what we know ourselves to be. No one else should be able to tell you who you are; that’s for you to decide…Man and woman are two of many stars in a constellation that do not compete but amplify one another’s shine.”– Alok Vaid-Menon.
