Felt like a ghost
In the school uniform
Every time I tried
To line up with the boys
I got in trouble
With the teacher
I got gifted dolls and barbies
Instead of the cars and trucks
I wanted
Which got me the message
That I can’t show
The pain that comes from within

  4. As a therapist and former Child Protection officer, I remember being there for support when a 12 year old client decided to tell her mother. I also remember when my daughter told me. I do hope you are surrounded by those who can appreciate you. That photo spoke to my heart.
