Here we are. I can’t explain what I’m going through when I try to write about it, which I did twice, but I’m scared it will be out of context and will try to harm me, so I’m doing a mini Kindle haul. While I will recover mentally, at the start of today, I thought I had lost all my friends, but I might have some in you. So, I’m breaking all my reading rules I made for next month. By the way, I don’t have a Kindle; I just use the Kindle App on my laptop.

Amazon Blurb:
Dean Aldridge has spent fifty-eight years running — quarterly returns, merger deadlines, the relentless sprint of a life measured in performance metrics. Then his father’s watch stops, and the only man in Philadelphia who can fix it tells him it’ll take three weeks. Dean doesn’t have three weeks. He stays anyway.
Eli Brandt fixes what others give up on. He works slowly, by design, in a shop where time moves differently. He wasn’t expecting a corporate executive to keep coming back. He wasn’t expecting this.
A story about two men who’ve spent their lives on the wrong thing — and the late, unhurried courage it takes to find the right one.

A baker, a golden retriever, and a dead body. Welcome to Willow Falls.
Fresh off a painful divorce, baker Maya Hartley moves to the quirky small town of Willow Falls, Vermont, hoping to start over. With only her golden retriever, Pretzel, for company, she plans to open a dog‑friendly bakery and lose herself in flour, butter, and sugar.
But when the town’s pompous rival baker drops dead after eating one of Maya’s signature pawstries at the Fall Harvest Festival, Maya becomes the prime suspect. The lazy sheriff is happy to pin the murder on the newcomer, and the only witness is a roller‑skating mail carrier who swears the victim’s widow looked relieved.
With her freedom on the line, Maya must trade her apron for a detective’s hat. Helped by Pretzel’s nose for trouble and a growing list of eccentric townsfolk, Maya uncovers blackmail, hidden poisons, and a secret that someone is willing to kill to protect.

Amazon Blurb:
She saves lives for a living. She never learned to ask for help with her own.
When burned-out surgery resident Maya Patel is ordered into a mandatory wellness consultation, she expects an hour of reluctant compliance. She doesn’t expect Nora Sullivan — warm, unshakeable, impossibly perceptive — or the forbidden pull that builds across weeks of shared on-call rooms and 3 a.m. confessions. Bound by policy and separated by ninety counted days, they learn each other in stolen margins: stairwells, terrible noodles, a November beach where something finally breaks open. But when a conflict of interest review threatens everything they’ve carefully built, Maya must decide how much of herself she’s willing to defend in public — and what, exactly, she’s been protecting all along. A slow-burn romance about burnout, institutional courage, and the particular healing that only happens when you let someone actually see you.
