Cheap Gifts

So, this is definitely a DIY list of ideas/tips based on things I enjoy, but that doesn’t mean the same concept can’t be used. I think every adult knows that, whether or not you have a comfortable income, things in life happen. What is different for each of us is how we cope with the situation and the tools we have available. You will still have to attend social events like birthdays or a family dinner, and going empty-handed isn’t fun.

  • For home décor, have a look at charity shops, which tend to have a variety of things, and if it is for a friend or family member, you will know their taste/style more easily to get something that matches that.
  • A hand-made object, like a craft or knitting something, which will be way more valuable to the sender than anything store-bought.
  • Scrapbooks, with memories shared, quotes that the other person loves or says often.
  • Invite them to a garden or a hike; public places are free and a great way to stay unplugged for a while.
  •  Be there for them even when they don’t ask to, as humans, we do take for granted the things we need the most.
  • Do a chore they aren’t fond of or they need help with; this is often called an act of service.
  • For bookworms, you can create a custom recommendation list or help them with the collection of reading data (I, for one, would love that.)
  • Custom-made stamps, which can be used on notes, books, folders, etc.
  • Baked goods, like cookies, if you can grow food or a fruit tree, are also amazing gifts since we all have to eat.
  • For writers, a pack of writing prompts can be searched online and then designed with Canva (there’s a free version everyone can use.
  • House set, look after pets or water their plants.

Life has become too much, and I don’t know if I can keep blogging.
