A few reasons why I enjoy the radar release playlist on Spotify, getting sidetracked here, but I’m curious how they came up with the name Spotify, maybe because you can find all the music around the world in one place? Back to the playlist, I wish there were a way you could save them for later, like the whole list, but I don’t think you can. If you are looking for new artists or music, you should check this out. The song I picked this week is Queen & Poet by John Michael Howell. When I first heard it, I thought he was an indie new artist, but I was wrong since he has 1.5 million subscribers. Now, I’m no music or sound expert, but I’m vibing with the sound here.

What I mean is that the music and the lyrics are parallel to each other, but in no way touching. I know he’s referring to his lover in the line ‘I’ll write this love ’til my hands are numb’, but to me, I would offer such words to books and writing as numb as that might sound. I’m thinking of it as if life were a house, so you would want a strong base, and in my life, the tools I use are books and writing.

Queen & Poet Lyrics:

You’re the fairest in all of the land
Many of kings and their kingdoms have fought for your hand
And I know I am no royal man
But if I could give you the world with my paper and pen

I’d write all night
Lyrics and rhymes
Tracing these lines through
Sing these words to the sky
Hoping they find you

Darling, you’re a queen
And I’m just a poet writing these songs
Hoping you’ll notice, notice me
‘Cause I’m just a helpless fool for you
I’ll write this love ’til my hands are numb
Darling, I’ll sing to kingdom come
You’re a queen
And I’m just a poet writing these songs for you

As long as my heart has a beat
There’s not a tower too high for these rhythms to reach
And I’ll scale these walls just like notes on a string
Sing songs in your halls ’til you hear symphonies

I’d write all night (I’d write all night)
Lyrics and rhymes (Lyrics and rhymes)
Tracing these lines through
Sing these words to the sky (Words to the sky)
Hoping they find you

Darling, you’re a queen
And I’m just a poet writing these songs
Hoping you’ll notice, notice me
‘Cause I’m just a helpless fool for you
I’ll write this love ’til my hands are numb
Darling, I’ll sing to kingdom come
You’re a queen
And I’m just a poet writing these songs for you

‘Til the day these castle walls come down
Like Jericho, I’ll be singing out
‘Til the day your heart can hear this sound

I’ll write this love ’til my hands are numb
Darling, I’ll sing to kingdom come
You’re a queen
And I’m just a poet writing these songs for you

All Of Us:

We all have pieces

Which are looked at

As weak or ready to break

The question is, can we

Hold on to them

Or there is a need

To let them go
