Reindeer’s Origins And History
Snowflakes & Paper Stars by Thomas Baker

I can’t believe it’s over, and with that comes something that is bittersweet at the same time and almost for the same reason. Let me explain, like a lot of people, my year has been challenging, but I’m still grateful, since yes, my health issues came out of nowhere. You realised how harsh you are with your body once it shuts down completely, but I’m glad I have made it another year, even if there is still a fair bit of unknown.
Not long ago, I reread a poetry collection, and there was a verse I recalled that said something like this: Scars heal into strength. Words to hold on to, since giving up might mean losing everything. As I mentioned in a few posts, I participated in the Reindeer Readathon, although I only read the books. However, I didn’t chat much in the Discord or participate in the reading sprints, so it didn’t happen.
I want to do a readathon in January, but New Year’sathon is for the first 15 days, and I would love a month-long one. I wanted to find a five-star book before the end of 2025, and I found two. Queerly Connected: A Spouse’s First-Year Journey Navigating Love & Identity in Transition by Nuranissa Jones, a trans memoir, but told from the spouse’s point of view, and the Save Our Dogs by Molly Weinfurter, which I hope to review in the new year.
