This isn’t bookish-related, however, it is related to the prompt of this week, as many of you know, I’m a trans guy, and in my world, a tiny word such as a pronoun can uplift or cause pain to a person. The best tip I can give you is if you aren’t sure, ask. Eight years later, I still get misgendered on a daily basis; it doesn’t affect me, but I, too, get no days. Mind you, I didn’t know what Honorifics means until today. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl, who has a new weekly topic.
July 15: Books with Honorifics in the Title (“…an honorific is a form of address conveying esteem, courtesy or respect. These can be titles prefixing a person’s name, e.g.: Mr., Mrs., Miss, Ms., Mx., Sir, Dame, Dr., Cllr, Lady, or Lord, or other titles or positions that can appear as a form of address without the person’s name, as in Mr. President, General, Captain, Father, Doctor, or Earl.” For more info, click here.) Romantic comedy following two thirty-somethings who meet on a blind dating app—only to realize that their online chemistry is nothing compared to their offline rivalry.
Perpetually cheerful and eager to please, Gracie Cooper strives to make the best out of every situation. So when her father dies just five months after a lung cancer diagnosis, she sets aside her dreams of pursuing her passion for art to take over his Midtown Manhattan champagne shop. She soon finds out that the store’s profit margins are being squeezed perilously tight, and complicating matters further, a giant corporation headed by the impossibly handsome, but irritatingly arrogant Sebastian Andrews is proposing a buyout to turn the store into a parking garage. But Gracie can’t bear the thought of throwing away her father’s dream like she did her own.
Overwhelmed and not wanting to admit to her friends or family that she’s having second thoughts about the shop, Gracie seeks advice and solace from someone she’s never met—the faceless “Sir”, with whom she connected on a blind dating app where matches get to know each other through messages and common interests before exchanging real names or photos.
But although Gracie finds herself slowly falling for Sir online, she has no idea she’s already met him in real life…and they can’t stand each other.

Working at Portland Grace has always been fun, until Tanner Wilson arrives—or Doctor Drop-Dead Gorgeous as all the scrub nurses have started calling him. Not me, though. Just thinking about him gives me heart palpitations. Not only is Tanner my brother’s best friend, he’s also my new boss. A boss who looks way too good in scrubs.
To make matters worse, I’ve got to share an apartment with him, all thanks to my stupid brother who offered him our spare room. Ugh. Do you know how torturous is it to watch a hot doc scoop cereal into his mouth every morning and having to pretend he means nothing to you?
Tanner
Being offered Head of Trauma at Portland Grace is a dream come true, but I didn’t count on Hazel Green becoming my new scrub nurse. Don’t get me wrong, she’s good at her job, but to me she’ll always be my best friend’s little sister. Extremely cute, but also extremely off-limits.
As long as I can convince her that I don’t like her at all, I’ll be fine. At least, that’s the lie I keep telling myself.

Bad Boone McDermitt’s back in Pleasant Haven, Florida to help his troubled nephews, not to romance the preacher’s daughter! But the handsome doctor sees a kindred spirit in restless, talented Abby Smith, and he’s drawn to her spirituality as much as to her beauty.
The problem is, Boone doesn’t think he’s good enough for Abby, and a few small-minded church people agree. As for Abby, she must choose between a dutiful life with the clean-cut minister dear old dad’s chosen for her and the dangerous, passionate freedom Boone represents. It’ll take a lot of prayer and an assist from the Sacred Bond brothers to teach Boone and Abby that sometimes, the biggest risk is in not following your heart.

A condemned apartment building means I’m stuck sleeping in my car. My carefully planned future—gone.
It’s just bad business to admit to being homeless when you’re the top selling real estate agent in the county. So when a fellow evictee, Nola, comes up with a solution to my homeless situation, I take her up on her offer.
An empty house with a gorgeous roommate? Sign me up.
I didn’t know that staying at her friend’s house would lead to us pretending to be married.
I didn’t know I would get elected to be president of an HOA I have no business being a part of.
And I’m beginning to suspect my beautiful, devious, fake wife isn’t telling me everything.
What happens when we get another roommate, and our deception moves to the next level?
Nola is the whirlwind I didn’t want in my life—but she just might be exactly what I need.

These books all look like fun reads. As the parent of a trans-woman, I fight for others. A couple people I work around are trans, and I have argued with others to use the proper pronouns. If you don’t like using the pronoun, then use their name. It’s not difficult!
