Kindle Book Haul Part 3

I understand that I shouldn’t be posting this, as I have three more posts to write for this month. My hands are already hurting, so I need a break soon. However, a couple of authors did the ‘fill your Kindle’ thing, and I got some books, even if a day late. So, I know that if I want them with you, I need to do it now while they are still free. I’m thrilled since 13 out of 15 books opened on my Kindle app, allowing me to listen to them. I unhaul one since I remembered I read it.

Goodreads Blurb:

Miles Curtis, a painter, owes his success to the popular band Cloverlily. Their music helped him get out of a slump many years ago, and he’s been a huge fan ever since. When he temporarily moves back home to help his family’s inn, he finds out that their guitarist, Calvin Lowe, is staying in one of their rooms.

Calvin, who turns out to be very quiet and withdrawn, is currently dealing with his band’s break-up. He makes it clear from the onset that he’s here to keep to himself. When he finds out that Miles is the painter he’s been wanting to meet, he seems more annoyed than anything else.

The two of them clash from the onset, but it doesn’t take that long for both of them to figure out that they have more in common than they initially thought–including being fans of each other’s work for years.

Goodreads Blurb:

Savannah Hollywood’s life is crumbling. Her marriage is over and her soon-to-be ex-husband has been spreading nasty rumors questioning her fidelity. It’s only a matter of time before the gossip starts to affect her career. She’s been in the business long enough to know the only way to stop a rumor is with a bigger story.

The only thing bigger than the lies her ex has been peddling is coming out of the closet and living her truth as a bisexual woman, but with her false reputation as a man eater, she’s not sure the public will believe the truth. Hiring a fake girlfriend seemed like the best option at the time.

The plan? Orchestrate a whirlwind romance, go viral, and solidify Savannah’s status as a bisexual icon, or a bi-con as their PR team insists on calling her. It sounds simple enough.

Unfortunately for Savannah, the fake girlfriend isn’t some stranger, as planned, but her ex-best friend and former costar. Things may have ended badly between them, but seeing Maya for the first time in years fuels a desire in Savannah, a desire that she’s determined to ignore.

Hard as she tries, she can’t avoid the truth; the relationship might be fake, but her desire isn’t.

Goodreads Blurb:

When skeptical engineer Alex Murphy’s perfectly ordered world collides with mystical cruise director Luna Hartwell’s cosmic chaos, sparks fly higher than the Northern Lights. Can a woman who believes in electromagnetic fields learn to trust in magic? Can a woman who reads tarot cards convince a scientist that love is the most powerful force in the universe? Aboard the lesbian cruise ship Sappho’s Dream, opposites don’t just attract—they create miracles that defy the laws of physics and prove that some equations balance perfectly when you stop trying to solve them and start living them instead.

Goodreads Blurb:

And a comedy of errors so divine, it might all work out anyway.

James Durant considers himself a great dad. His teenaged daughter, Mia, is his entire world and he will do almost anything to help her achieve her dreams. Somehow, that includes asking his best friend to be his pretend fiancé to boost her chances at getting into an exclusive private school and the drama program she so desperately wants to enrol in.

No, he’s still not sure he follows that logic himself, but he’ll do it for Mia.

Unfortunately, James underestimates just how much work is involved in maintaining a fake relationship…or that it might bring up old feelings he buried long ago.

Having known James since they were kids, Evan Bernardi will do almost anything for him. So, pretending to be in a relationship isn’t a hardship. After all, they’re so close that there’s very little pretending involved. They’re well matched as best friends, and they know each other inside and out.

But when one thing leads to another, and their fake relationship begins to feel more real than pretend, Evan and James have some choices to make.

If only life would stop throwing them curve balls…

Follow the heart-warming story of George Bernard Sheth, a devoted pug and bee lover, who has been secretly crushing on a local mead brewer. But when a customer dies during a mead tasting, Murphy Baird, the brewer, finds himself at the centre of a police investigation.

Goodreads Blurb:

The guy who broke my heart is back and teaching at my school. I’m really trying not to give an F.

A long time ago, in a suburban high school not so far away, a closeted nerd (me) and a closeted soccer star (Hutch) fell in love and planned to make their public debut at prom. Until Hutch bailed at the last minute, leaving me with a broken heart and unworn tuxedo. Tale as old as time, right?

I spent the past ten years working to forget Hutch, returning to our old high school to teach and make new memories that could erase ones of him. I thought Hutch was ancient history, off living his professional athlete life. But he’s suddenly back in Sourwood, coaching soccer at South Rock High, and sexy as ever. Just when I’d gotten over him, we’re now colleagues.

As Hutch leads the soccer team to victory once again, and we find ourselves trading stolen glances in the halls, it feels like a reboot of our high school bad romance. Especially after a late night encounter where I find myself climbing him like the rope in gym class. Oops.

Hutch wants to give us another try, but what if history is doomed to repeat itself?
