My Watch List For April

It’s best to start with the books I read for Dewey’s. I went into it with one goal: to finish as many novels from my list as possible. I finished five books on my Kindle, including an F/F series set in a medical setting, with a bonus of the author being self-published. I wanted to write a bookstagram post, but I didn’t have the time nor energy for it. I rated the other two pretty low, as if they were longer, I would have DNF’ed them. Well, here’s my new bookish pet peeve: when an author rates their book five stars for readers to see a high star-rating. As evil as I’m going to sound, this 19-page had so many wrongdoings. The others I read were from my shelter animal list.

For whatever reason, when I make a book list, I’m more encouraged to read them, likely because I feel I completed a task, I basically read half from my Kindle, half not, 72 plus, and the genre I enjoyed the same was thriller/mystery, so I downloaded some more from my Kindle for them to be on hand whenever I’m in the mood for them. The task now is to unhaul the books I’ve read and make space, plus I have about 25 physical books I need to get to because I hate the thought of them living on the shelves unread.

I’m doing poetry month for two main reasons: my hands are acting up, so keeping it lighter on the typing side would be a good idea. On top of that, I want to go back to doing two things: Bookstagram reviews, although I won’t press myself to do them daily, and getting back into my writing project, because I haven’t continued on that in ages. I’m not going to lie; being unable to publish Turning Paige got me very discouraged from writing.
