I shouldn’t be in crisis in my late 20s; they should come in my 50s, or so I thought. I have always had a tricky time with relationships, not just the ones on an intimate level but even just friendships. I never know what others want to know about that won’t drive them away because, like most, I’m a complex human. Unlike blog readers, people in real life don’t wait for me to release bits and pieces of me that make the whole puzzle. I feel like I can share what recently happened to me since it looks like the person will no longer talk to me, and if they do, it’s improbable they will visit my blog. I met a guy who is in a relationship with someone else.

We both admitted there’s an attraction going on from my side. I told him the next day I met him even if I knew that it can’t be acted on. Me telling him how I feel was a mistake. Anyway, we were starting to be good friends. I keep thinking if it was something I said or did that made him leave, but that’s an answer I won’t have. When I heard Know Better by Rachel Grea and Save My Heart by Bradley Marshall, but the song I’m sharing today is DOWN TO EARTH by Kiran + Nivi

Down To Earth LYRICS :

The second I love someone

I know they’re leaving soon

Revolved around your sun

Now I’m talking to the moon

If I’m not what you need

Then I’m only what you crave

I knew your talk was cheap

But I still paid

Was I stupid to love you

From a dangerous height

Am I foolish for wanting paradise?

Don’t look into my eyes

And make me think you’ll stay

Cuz holding on’s a habit that I know I can never break

Baby your heaven has a price

It turns into a curse

Cuz every time you lift me high

I fall back down to Earth

I don’t know who to trust

Cuz I can’t trust myself

Bet my world on us

Like it was life or death

Was I stupid to love you

From a dangerous height

Am I foolish for wanting paradise?

Don’t look into my eyes

And make me think you’ll stay

Cuz holding on’s a habit that I know I can never break

Baby your heaven has a price

It turns into a curse

Cuz every time you lift me high

I fall back down to Earth

I’m giving back all the things you said to me

The words you never meant

For what it’s worth

I won’t fall when you’re not catching me

Guess this is the end

Don’t look into my eyes

You know it only hurts

Cuz every time you lift me high

I fall back down to Earth.

Thinking We Were Meant:

We talked over each other

But in reality, all I wanted

Was for you to want me

As much as I needed you

For you to share some of your free soul

Not fading footsteps

That left a sharp edge

That no one can touch

Alex
