The day I’m sitting down to write this post is Sunday of Valentine’s Day weekend. Yeah, I surprised myself for wanting to write this post because outside of my sister’s birthday, this isn’t a holiday that makes me feel good since I haven’t been in a relationship with someone for years and in fairness, it’s only about a year that I’m open to dating again having said that I don’t think I have got a gift during this holiday without of rose for my mum. This might be my unpopular opinion, but I think flowers shouldn’t be a gendered gift. You know that I’m a fan of world records, so here are some love-related I found and want to share.
Longest Love Poem:
It is titled Marina, written by Andrej Sládkovič in 1845; the 291 stanzas with 2 900 lines and his muse that inspired him to write it was Marína Pischlová. It was translated into five languages: Hungarian, French, Polish, Croatian and Czech. A thought that came to mind was, I wonder how it would sound in Italian or Spanish, being that they are known to be more romantic languages.
The Biggest Engagement Ring:
It’s a record that happened more recently. It happened in January 2024 in Timonium, Maryland, and it was showcased in front of the Smyth Jewellers storefront. It measures a 17-foot tall, 14-foot wide structure shaped like an engagement ring.
Among The First Chocolate Box:
This record will take place in the UK, where, on 1868 Valentine’s Day, the eldest son of John Cadbury, one of the founders of the chocolate world, Richard Cadbury, invented the first heart-shaped box, designing it so that the lids were more eye-catching.
