I’m hoping for people to see this post before I would rather read from an author who doesn’t use AI, but I was told recently something which I feared because she’s a favourite of mine, but I fear for readathons, I will be punished if I read her books. I know most people see the use of ChatGPT for recommendations, which is what got me in trouble last month with one of the readathons. On the other hand, if, like me, reading/listening to books is one of the few things keeping you afloat, all you care about is not getting a reading slump, which sadly I had two in the month. Why am I saying all this? I will try to read only from non-AI authors, but if that’s the only choice I’m seeing at the time, I don’t want to feel guilty or ashamed about it. Sam’s currently hosting WWW Wednesday from Taking On A World of Words.

When a chance reunion brings him face to face with a flame from his past the sparks quickly turn to ice as evidence of foul play arises! He soon learns that it’s no coincidence his high school crush disappeared years ago, without a trace. It’s also no coincidence that his victims look exactly like Quinn… The body count and the stakes are high as Quinn works to unravel the truth behind a string of unanswered murders that hit dangerously close to home.

Goodreads Blurb:
Katherine Ellison has spent years avoiding Christmas. As a park ranger at Twin Pines, she prefers animals over people, winter solitude, and anything that doesn’t involve twinkling lights or forced cheer. But this year, to her horror, she’s been put in charge of the park’s biggest event of the season: Christmas in the Pines.
Festive, relentless, and entirely too enthusiastic about everything Katherine avoids, Tessa McIntosh is determined to make the festival the best one ever. As first-year president of the Friends of Twin Pines Volunteer Society, Tessa isn’t letting anyone stand in her way.
When a sudden snowstorm traps them together, the distance between them begins to melt. But as old wounds resurface and the festival draws closer, they both must decide if they’re willing to face the past and risk their hearts.
Real-life note: Speaking of AI books, I realised the novel I was reading was AI, so not only did I need to DNF but also go back on this post and swap books
