Easter Book Tag

This isn’t my typical book tag introduction, but I’m writing as I’m thinking. However, just so you are aware, a few random posts will be coming your way. In other words, whatever, I’m in the mood to post, which will cause me to lose views, but that doesn’t matter to me. Blogging started to feel like a chore, which isn’t time worth to me. Anyway, now it’s time to talk bookish. My plan is to go back to Discord now that I cleaned it of spam. I’m doing the Easter book tag, and the original creator is RosieTheReader.

Rabbits – A book that you wish would multiply – So a book you want a sequel to (that doesn’t have one)

Goodreads Blurb:

A heartbreaking saga of hope, family, and longing set in one of the untold parts of war-torn Europe.

Rhodes, 1940. Sixteen-year-old Dora Behar and her cousin Sarah are as close as sisters, planning their future and painting the sunsets that wash over the Mediterranean. But that was before the Nazis rose to power, blackening every corner of their once-peaceful Jewish district. And while some believe the war and discrimination will eventually pass, Dora’s family is about to make an impossible choice that will change her life forever…

2023. The war is long over, and for many, it remains in memory, a story to pass down to the next generation. But for a particular young artist, the war is more than just a memory—it’s a recurring a solemn figure standing on the very edges of an abandoned harbor, watching a ship sailing away, unaware that it will never come back to Rhodes…

This is the first book I thought of, simply because I have had a lot of hope for the characters and wanted to spend more time with the characters.

Egg – A book that surprised you

Goodreads Blurb:

Is it really possible not to remember killing someone? Peter, a brain-injured veteran with a motive, is arrested for murder. The victim bullied Peter throughout his youth, and, on the night of the murder, he discovered the bully stole his fianceé while Peter served overseas.
Detective Luca leads the investigation but believes the marine’s inability to recall events on the fateful night are injury related and not an attempt by Peter to hide the truth.
As political pressure to solve the case rises, Luca pursues other leads but evidence points at Peter. Even his brother, Vinny, who dropped everything to help his injured brother recover, begins to question Peter’s guilt.
Peter’s lawyers, faced with a client either unwilling or unable to assist in his own defense, recommend he cop a plea. Frustrated, Luca attempts to move on but is haunte

It didn’t go where I thought it would, so it was a bit of a surprise.

Hunt – A book that was hard for you to get your hands on

Amazon Blurb:

One birthday. One island escape. One second chance she never expected.

On the eve of her fiftieth birthday, Belinda McGuire’s life implodes when her marriage ends and her carefully built future disappears overnight. Rather than endure sympathy and small talk back home, she escapes to a historic villa in Valletta, Malta, hoping sun, space, and time will help her breathe again.

She doesn’t expect the villa’s chef to be Noah, her childhood neighbor and first love, now older, steadier, and impossible to ignore. As shared memories resurface over Mediterranean meals, Belinda begins to imagine a life that looks nothing like the one she lost.

But when her grown children, estranged sister, and inconvenient ex-husband arrive, old wounds and misunderstandings threaten to derail everything. Caught between the past she survived and the future she might still claim, Belinda must decide whether Malta is simply an escape, or the place where her life truly begins again

To be completely honest, I got this in physical format, which I regret. To be frank, my sister got it for me since the eBook hadn’t been released at that time, but I didn’t enjoy the book as much as I wanted to. Let me tell you a stupid mistake I made. I bought the ebook when it came out; that’s how hyped I was. The bright side is that the book is self-published, so I don’t feel too bad about the spending.

Lambs – A children’s book that you still enjoy

Goodreads Blurb:

This heartwarming story has beckoned generations of readers into the special world of Green Gables, an old-fashioned farm outside a town called Avonlea. Anne Shirley, an eleven-year-old orphan, has arrived in this verdant corner of Prince Edward Island only to discover that the Cuthberts—elderly Matthew and his stern sister, Marilla—want to adopt a boy, not a feisty redheaded girl. But before they can send her back, Anne—who simply must have more scope for her imagination and a real home—wins them over completely. A much-loved classic that explores all the vulnerability, expectations, and dreams of a child growing up, Anne of Green Gables is also a wonderful portrait of a time, a place, a family… and, most of all, love.

I think this book is one of the most loved children’s books.

Jesus – A religious or spiritual book that you love

I haven’t recently read any religious-themed books since it is a topic that can trigger me, and that’s the last thing I need right now.

Rising from the dead – A book from a deceased

Goodreads Blurb:

The Nazis spared their lives because they were twins.

In the summer of 1944, Eva Mozes Kor and her family arrived at Auschwitz.

Within thirty minutes, they were separated. Her parents and two older sisters were taken to the gas chambers, while Eva and her twin, Miriam, were herded into the care of the man who became known as the Angel of Death: Dr. Josef Mengele. They were 10 years old.

While twins at Auschwitz were granted the ‘privileges’ of keeping their own clothes and hair, they were also subjected to Mengele’s sadistic medical experiments. They were forced to fight daily for their own survival and many died as a result of the experiments, or from the disease and hunger rife in the concentration camp.

In a narrative told simply, with emotion and astonishing restraint, The Twins of Auschwitz shares the inspirational story of a child’s endurance and survival in the face of truly extraordinary evil.

I feel ashamed, but I don’t know who’s alive and dead. I followed Eva’s story, and sadly, she passed away a few years ago.

Baskets – A book that is in your amazon cart or wish list right now

Goodreads Blurn:

Imogen Quinn is a chaotic bisexual with dreams of becoming a stand-up comedian, crushing stereotypes about autistic people. When she decides to put on a pride festival that’s accessible for everyone, she enlists the help of the openly gay captain of the football team, Ollie Armstrong.

Dealing with the fallout from his parents’ divorce, Ollie is initially hesitant. But it doesn’t take long for him to be swept up by Imogen’s passion, and he’s not the only one. Joined by the (infuriatingly perfect) head girl, musicians, an artist and a star baker – a dream team soon assembles to help plan pride and tackle injustices in their school and beyond. You’d better listen out – they’re getting ready to make some noise.

In reality, I have been looking for it online for years, and my mum recently got it to me in physical format, but today I found the ebook.

Candy – A book that is sweet

Goodread Blurb:

That awkward moment when your one-night stand is the new sheriff in town…
And he’s here to arrest you.

Yep. A reformed bad girl should never fall into bed with a cop.

Conrad Meyer is everything I’ve always tried to avoid. A know-it-all, grumpy, goody-two-shoes with piercing eyes and a distractingly sexy body.

And to top it all off? He’s a cop.

As Maple Grove’s resident ‘party girl,’ I gravitate more to tattooed bad boys on motorcycles than clean cut, single-dads in squad cars.

Unfortunately, Conrad isn’t only Maple Grove’s new sheriff… he’s also my new landlord.

Despite this, I have every intention to keep my distance.

However, fate has other ideas when faulty wiring causes an electrical fire and I have no choice but to move in with him for a few weeks while my apartment is being repaired.

But when the town stick-in-the-mud kisses me, all I can think about is what’s beneath those grumpy pants of his…

If you read this novel, you might ask me if I lost my mind calling this one sweet, but the characters are sweet in their own way.

I would have loved to tag someone, but today it is Easter, so it’s a bit too late.
