Birthday Related Stuff

Keeping it on theme since yesterday was my birthday, more like today is my birthday because I’m pre-blogging. Since I love quotes and records and little fun facts, this post is more for me, and I hope you get something out of it too, since hated or love it, everyone gets a birthday, since that is part of our life cycle. I’m starting this with some quotes:

This was reached by His Holiness Shri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji in Mysuru, Karnataka, with 7,651wishes were left. If, like me, you have no clue who this guy is, he is a much-revered religious figure with a following worldwide, especially in India. The event was put together to celebrate his 80th Birthday.

The longest birthday card exchange:

This one is 80 years in the making, yes, you heard me right. It started between two American girls, Patricia Shardelow Jarrett DeReamer Surgener and Mary Wheaton Kroger. They exchanged the first card on 12 April 1944 when they were both 14. It is fair to say that this record was updated in 2024, and I wish them many birthday cards ahead.

The largest group meeting of people having their birthday on the same day:

My friend and I share a birthday, but this group did much better, since there were 228 people, and it was to celebrate 5 new gorillas born at the zoo in the Netherlands. This record took place in 2012.
