Yearly Reading Book Blog

I know I said I’m not ready to do this post, but I’m running out of time to do it, so I hope I don’t forget something I want to say, and Goodreads isn’t helping since it’s not letting me do anything on it. It could be that I’ve read a lot of books this year, but I don’t know, since it won’t let me add more to my reading challenge. On top of that, it keeps doubling some of my books, which has been my number one pet peeve.

My yearly Goodreads recap just showed I read 932 books, totalling 199,761 pages. I know it’s more than that, since some of my Kindle editions don’t have page counts on Goodreads or aren’t listed there. I read 359, which were 2025 releases. In the LGBTI+ category, I read 411, which is way more than I read last year. A total of ten received five stars, including Generation Queer: Stories of Youth Organisers, Artists, and Educators, a memoir/nonfiction collection written by a group of people. Tides of Change: When Rising Seas Meet Rising Hearts. By Eva Lovelle (a climate change contemporary romance), weirdly, it only has my rating on there, which I think is a shame.

The same goes to GOD BLESS GAY PEOPLE: Challenges of Being Gay in Nigeria by Ifechi Japhet Nwaorisa. It is a memoir about living in Nigeria while coming out as gay. If my memory is playing tricks on me, I have read 38 Middle Grade books. Hopefully, people don’t laugh at me, but over the last two months, I have been loving the picture books I’ve found for free. If I had to pick my favourites, they would be: Bholu: The puppy who wanted to belong by S.O. Svana and My Dog & The Park On The Clouds by Trevor H. Butler.

Sadly, as much as I tried to count all the self-published books I read, but it’s not working, but I tell you I read about 200 to 300. I think I said everything I wanted to, but if you want to know something more, let me know, and I will tell you. I hope you got all the books you wished for. I wish someone could go through my Kindle and remove the books I read, but that’s wishful thinking.
