If you are anywhere close to Italy or Malta, for that matter, you know this Christmas song by heart. I’m talking about the song “A Natale Puoi,” which translates to “At Christmas You Can.” Weirdly, I know hearing the song for the very few times gave me goosebumps because even if I was a teen, I could understand what the words meant, thanks to spending nights with mum watching Italian channels.
It’s interesting how, after listening to a language for a while, you start to learn it. This song has the message of peace, empowerment, and a helping hand, which everyone needs from time to time to renew ourselves. A tool is required to start the new year. When I was thinking about what to write for the song, the thought occurred to me how seasonal mental health is less understood compared to anxiety and other things you engage with all year long, because unless you feel it on your skin, it can’t be easily explained or understood.
