Okay, my gut feeling is indicating that I might be judged for this because I have got ten 10 free books from Amazon related to this week’s prompt. In my defence, I only have two left from last week’s list, and I enjoyed most of them. I have a question before I show you my list: how do you feel about reading children’s books? I’m feeling guilty for getting them, which I know doesn’t make sense. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl, who has a new weekly topic.
October 28: Halloween Freebie

Amazon Blurb:
A steamy Halloween bite-sized read that’s perfect for devouring in one sitting.
Red has always spent Halloween pouring drinks instead of getting drunk but this year, she’s off the clock and determined to get just as wrecked and reckless as everyone else.
After crashing a bonfire party deep in the woods, she feels his stare before she sees him: tall, silent, hidden behind a wolf mask. The irony isn’t lost on her… Red, meet your wolf.
But when the group’s inside jokes leave her feeling like an outsider, Red slips into the forest alone… and that’s when she hears footsteps. Heavy, intentional, and not quite done with her.

Amazon Blurb:
A Queer/MM Romantic Fantasy Tricks & Treats Short Story!
Agustin, the Demon Lord of California, has finally found happiness with Calico Winghorse—a humble phoenix in human form, and the most talented of bakers. While Calico’s confectioner’s skills contribute to Agustin’s weakness for chocolate and butterscotch, Agustin’s current anxiety isn’t about sweets.
With Halloween just around the corner, Agustin desperately wants to introduce Calico to his son. Although, Ganymede’s been busy with university, and rarely makes it home—even for his Halloween birthday ball.
But this year, Agustin couldn’t be more overjoyed at Ganymede’s sudden arrival. And little does he realize his son has come prepared—with his own bag of tricks.

Goodreads Blurb:
Trick her… then treat her.
Dante, Evelyn, and the crew return in this short, steamy Lover’s Lament Halloween novella.

Goodreads Blurb:
By the time Monroe Avalon turns 23, she’s landed a position with Will Wishes—a business dedicated to impeccable (and expensive) execution of wills. Monroe’s history, and background as a junior enigmatologist, not only secures her the coveted job, it also procures her the enormously wealthy, and anonymous, client on the other end of her pager.
Her position comes with a significant salary, a fully paid-for condo, and a shopping stipend. It also gifts Monroe with an invisible cell, locking her into a 60-minute radius from the center of the sleepy town on the Hudson she was required to move to for the job.
Over a family dinner served up by a world-class chef, the buzz of her pager turns the evening, and her life, upside down. In minutes, she discovers who her client is—or was—and his spoiled son, Mars LaCroix, who happens to be the town’s bad boy. With a murder to be solved three days before Halloween, and the threat of another, can Monroe stay focused on her job, with Mars proving to be the distraction she never knew she needed.

Goodreads Blurb:
The guests won’t say a word. The plants won’t stop talking.
Hosting her family’s annual All Hallow’s Eve masquerade ball is Georgiana’s responsibility, but attending is her chance to unmask her secret admirer. But when a guest is murdered, the evening turns from a magical night into a high-society whodunit. To make matters worse, the prime suspect is none other than George Wickham—the man she’s loved for years. He’s charming, infuriating, and swears he’s innocent.
With reputations on the line and secrets hidden behind every mask, Georgiana steps into the role of amateur sleuth, determined to uncover the truth. Fortunately, she has a secret her fae ability to communicate with plants. And her most talkative witness? A hopelessly romantic potted rose who might have seen everything.
Can Georgiana solve the mystery, clear Wickham’s name, and finally get him to see her as more than his best friend’s little sister, or will she discover that love—and murder—are rarely what they seem?

Amazon Blurb:
Welcome to Brimstone Bay—where the coffee’s strong, the gossip’s stronger, and the witches try not to burn the town down.
Fresh out of journalism school, River Halloway thought a sleepy coastal town would be the perfect place to launch her career—and hide her magical identity. But when a traveling Shadow Festival arrives and a body turns up behind the boardwalk, River is pulled into a mystery with more secrets than the town library.
Armed with coffee, charm, and questionable spells, River must find the killer before her own secrets rise from the grave.

Goodreads Blurb:
It’s Halloween and Grandma Witch has lost her hair! What will she do? She has a big party to go to that night, but she can’t go without her hair! She wonders if her Halloween friends can lend a helping hand or ‘something’ else – so she can go to the party.
This book is a posthumous tribute to the author, Jeanette Rolph, who passed away from cancer in January 2020.
Jeanette was in the midst of accepting this new and cruel reality of her condition. She understood that the intensity of the treatments could lead to her losing all of her hair. Not long after she had shopped for potential wigs, she began to be worried about how the further shock and heartbreak from her children and grandchildren would be seeing her without any hair. She then decided to make that transition into a book – a story of love, laughter, and joy that her posterity could read.
As Halloween that year was fast approaching (not to mention that day was a close second to Christmas for her), she decided on the setting for her a kind witch who lost her hair! And must investigate where it could have gone – with the help of her Halloween friends.
This book is truly a labor of selfless in its design, yet applicable for so many families who have been forced to undertake the uncertain and painful battle with cancer.

Goodreads Blurb:
Would you kill to win the Giant Pumpkin Festival?
Retired festival director Rusty Redmond thought she’d traded pumpkin chaos for peace and quiet. But when the Giant Pumpkin Festival’s brand-new drone-carving derby ends in a shocking on-air murder, she’s pulled right back into the spotlight.
With her buff-colored cocker spaniel, Boo, at her side, Rusty finds herself juggling a tangle of a teen coding prodigy, a rival grower with a grudge, a social media queen, and a charming corporate sponsor with a polished smile and too many secrets.
The mayor’s given her until the lantern-lit finale to help the sheriff crack the case—or risk the festival’s reputation going up in smoke.
Armed with sharp instincts, a lifetime of event-planning savvy, and Boo’s knack for finding clues, Rusty must untangle the sabotage before the killer turns the spotlight—and the danger—on her.

It’s Kiki Hepburn’s first Halloween in Aloha Lagoon, and she doesn’t know exactly what to expect. Between working at the busy Aloha Lagoon Dive Shop and living with the eccentric Auntie Akamai, life is always unpredictable. But one thing Kiki definitely didn’t expect to find is the dead body of Auntie Akamai’s life-long friend, Celine Suzuki! And when the island’s Homicide Detective Ray shows up, Kiki knows the death is not an accident—it’s murder.
Now Auntie Akamai’s friends are all suspects in the death. Was it Oliana Harris, the Pineapple Princess, and heiress to a pineapple fortune? Margaux La Roux, a transplant from New Orleans? Or Stella Keawe, Akamai’s gossipy goose of a neighbor? They’re all acting suspiciously. And each is hiding something. But is what they’re hiding worth killing over?
To complicate matters even more, Kiki’s parents want her to bring her hot diver boyfriend Dex home for the holidays, and Kiki’s not sure how she feels about the whole situation—let alone how Dex feels. Instead of enjoying her first Hawaiian Autumn under the waves, Kiki’s investigation takes her to gardens of flowering poisonous plants, an over-the-top animal shelter, a prickly pineapple plantation, and a zombie theme “Hallo-wedding.” With time running out and “something” stalking her every move, will Kiki live to see her Halloween treats? Or will this year end in a “trick” Kiki won’t come back from?

I don’t think anyone would (or should) judge you for getting free Amazon books. I get them all the time.

I love reading children’s books! I like previewing picture books for my granddaughter, and I enjoy reading middle grade and YA books just for myself. Nothing wrong with that.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
