WWW Wednesdays #32

I’m unsure if this post will see the light of day since my hands aren’t happy, but let me say it, I’m having fun reading whatever I’m in the mood for. The prompts for Trick or Treatathon are out, so I’m slowly gathering the books for it. The great thing about having a ton of Kindle books is that I can find most prompts from there. I’m on Team Fall, which starts on 1st October, and here’s the link for the Discord. Sam’s currently hosting WWW Wednesday from Taking On A World of Words.

The Three Ws are:

What happens when the Prince of Wales falls in love with the Prime Minister?

My boring life working in an insurance call center in sunny California just took an unexpected turn. Thanks to my misbehaving relatives, I’ve leapt from obscurity to royalty as the new heir to the British throne.

But my welcome in England is about as warm as the weather. I arrive to discover a country horrified at the thought of an American version of Prince Charming and ready to revolt against the monarchy. I vow to my grandmother, the Queen, that I will do everything possible to help her save the crown.

Unfortunately, royal life isn’t easy. From bewildering traditions, traitorous friends, and malevolent swans, the only thing I’m succeeding in is providing entertainment for the tabloids and social media trolls.

And then the broodingly handsome Prime Minister, Oliver Hartwell, bursts into my life.

With his meteoric rise from poverty to the most powerful man in the country, Oliver understands my current plight. Innocent messages of support turn into late-night chats—and unexpected feelings.

But there’s one major problem. The royal family must remain politically neutral at all times.

So how can I keep my promise to save the monarchy when I’m falling in love with the Prime Minister?

Goodreads Blurb:

It was supposed to be a harmless drunk purchase.

A haunted antique mirror from Etsy.
One click. One glass of wine too many. One deeply suspicious listing that promised “a unique romantic history and possibly minor possession.”

Museum curator Willa Franklin was just trying to forget her ex and ignore her cat Barf’s judgmental stare. But when the mirror arrives smelling like lavender and long-forgotten secrets, things get weird fast. Reflections start lagging. The lights flicker. The cat hisses. And then one morning… there’s a man.

A very attractive, very dead, very Victorian man named Edmund.
Poet. Dandy. Over-enunciator. Currently haunting her apartment in a cravat and calling her his wife.

According to him, they were just spiritually wed via “The Rite of Mutual Reflection,” which—surprise!—is apparently legally binding across realms. Now he’s composing her sonnets, knocking over her shampoo, and reacting to Wi-Fi like it’s dark sorcery.

Willa wants him gone.
Edmund insists they’re soulmates.
Barf throws up on the rug. Twice.

In a desperate attempt to undo the accidental afterlife nuptials, Willa seeks help from Lily, her best friend and part-time witch who runs HEXED & CO., the local occult shop-slash-Instagram-brand. What she uncovers is a century-old romantic scandal, a very cursed mirror network, and a ritual marriage contract that seems… harder to break than expected.

The more time Willa spends with her spectral husband, the more she begins to question the nature of fate, love, and emotional availability in the afterlife. Edmund’s death might not have been what it seemed—and neither was his life. As the truth about his past unravels, Willa is faced with a dangerous unravel the bond for good, or take a leap into the unknown and redefine what it means to be together.

But undoing a ghost marriage isn’t just about burning some sage and smashing glass—it’s about confronting grief, making peace with imperfection, and admitting when you’ve accidentally fallen in love with a melodramatic dead man who writes fanfiction about your eyebrows.

Goodreads Blurb:

Two journalists with clashing methodologies find themselves snowbound in a remote Colorado town while investigating a controversial mining expansion. Renee Winters, a Pulitzer-nominated investigative reporter, believes in hard facts and emotional detachment. Jordyn Blake, an innovative multimedia producer, focuses on human narratives and emotional connections.

Forced to collaborate in challenging conditions, they discover their opposing approaches are secretly complementary—both in uncovering corporate environmental negligence and in breaking down the personal barriers between them. As their investigation reveals a web of corporate manipulation and community division, an unexpected attraction develops that challenges Renee’s rigid boundaries between professional and personal life.

Set against the backdrop of a picturesque mountain town divided by economic necessity and environmental concerns, Media Spotlight explores whether journalistic integrity and emotional connection can strengthen rather than compromise each other. As roads close and tensions rise, Renee and Jordyn must navigate professional ethics, career ambitions, and the possibility that their most important discovery in Pinecrest might be each other.
