I am thinking of seriously unplugging from some apps like YouTube since they waste me a ton of time. Now that I have added daily book reviews to the mix, it won’t work for me anymore. Not that that is interesting to you, but I’m just saying. What’s that book that you have been thinking about but have not said anything about? For me, that novel is Tis the Season for Revenge by Morgan Elizabeth. I believe I got it at the beginning of 2024 or towards the end of 2023, thinking I would get to it someday, and that day didn’t come for a while.

Then I saw that my friend Vanessa from Reading with Dr B read in a reading vlog, and I decided it was time to pick it up. Abby, since she thinks Abbgail is too formal, is a bit of a wild card. The starting scene is her talking with her girlfriends while she gets ready for a Halloween party that her boyfriend’s law firm is hosting. She thinks he will pop the question at the Christmas party, which takes place in the magical rainbow room.

As the saying goes, you can genuinely get blinded by love and even if her friends are trying to make that he’s putting her down anytime he can, starting from seeing her job as a makeup artist as a hobby instead of her passion, which is what it means to her—not going to lie. This was hard to read since I was in Abby’s shoes one time.

He breaks things with her, so while getting drunk with her friends, she downloads a dating app where she matches with her ex’s boss, so together with her friends, she hatches a plan for revenge. I loved the character growth the subplots created. The only reason I gave it three stars was due to the smut scenes, but thinking about it, I realise it deserves a four. I would like to continue on with the series which is rare for me lately.
