Book Blogger Hop: What Are Your Mental Health Recs?

I don’t know why I keep trying, but today, I will give a final try to making my reading stats, and if I don’t make a list and add it to it, it won’t happen. Honestly, this morning, I looked at this week’s question, and I got mad at myself because I was drawing a blank on suggestions, and now the ones that I’m remembering aren’t the ones I want to recommend since it’s either a popular book or I featured it on my blog a fair bit. Coffee Addicted Writer is hosting this meme. They pick a bookish question weekly every Friday, and everyone can give their point of view.

This Week’s Question Is:

10th-16th – May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Are there any books with themes or characters dealing with issues related to mental health that you have found to be enlightening or comforting? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

Since my bookish memory is failing me, I will look at some Goodreads lists for help. I knew there were novels, but I can’t remember one of them is the novel in verse We Are All So Good at Smiling by Amber McBride, which has a gorgeous cover, and I need to re-read it. While I was searching for which ones to pick, I found Chaos Theory by Nic Stone, an author who writes beautiful novels, so I added it to my TBR, and it is also listed as having mental health rep.

If you are looking for a memoir nonfiction, I suggest Asperger’s on the Inside by Michelle Vines. If you are a fan of The Greatest Showman like myself, I would tell you to check out Harley in the Sky by Akemi Dawn Bowman. Another book that deals with mental health and anxiety, set around a fictional reality show, check out The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun.
