My Thoughts On Same Love by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Feat Mary Lambert

I never really written anything like this but when I thought about it, it sounded cool so, I hope you guys enjoy it. I find the song, Same Love by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Mary Lambert. I heard other songs by Mary Lambert, and they are queer, which I love. Making this song and others by the same singer excellent for a playlist for when you are in the mood to dance to LGBT+ tunes.

Moving on to the music video of Same Love started with a mother in labour. If you think about it, that’s the first time that a trans people gets misgendered when the doctor says it’s a boy or a girl. The next point in the video and lyrics is when the boy starts to realize that he might be gay and people telling him that he acts too straight to be gay.

I told my mom, tears rushing down my face
She’s like, “Ben, you’ve loved girls since before Pre-K!”
Trippin’, yeah I guess she had a point, didn’t she?
A bunch of stereotypes all in my head

Even if this song was released in 2012, it still talks about ongoing battles in today’s society like race, gender and sexual orientation.

Gender to skin color, the complexion of your pigment
The same fight that led people to walk-outs and sit-ins
It’s human rights for everybody, there is no difference

Okay, guys, that’s all I have for you today. I hope you enjoy this post and if you have any song that you want me to share my thoughts on drop it down in the comments.
