July TBR / Black Lives Matter

As a way to kill two birds with one stone, I wanted to support black authors by reading books written by them all month long and give you some recommendations that you can check out.

All Boys Aren't Blue

All Boys Aren’t Blue is a lgbt+ memoir that reminds me of the book Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah, which was five stars for me.

Clap When You Land

This is the lastest release by Elizabeth Acevedo and both Poet X and With the Fire on High were five stars for me.

Felix Ever After King and the Dragonflies

This one is another 2020 release, in all honesty, I picked up because it is lgbt+ but then I found this book on the list for black authors.

Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body

What’s wrong with me? I thought that Roxane Gay was white (don’t mean to offend anyone by the comment)

Pride

Being Pride is a retelling of Pride and Prejudice, and I’m not a fan of the classic, but I’m still giving a try. Have read this book? What are your thoughts?

The Chase Is On (The Westmorelands, #7)

I think the best way I can describe this book is a cheesy romance.

Who Put This Song On?

It talks about mental health, and I think it is an essential topic for everyone to read about.

If you guys like this post, I will do a part two once I read all seven books.
