My Mum Called Me Her Son For The First Time Ever

So yesterday I was working at my job and when my work is done for the day. My mum enters the office where I work, so she signs me out from the day since the machine is out of my reach because I’m sitting being that I’m a wheelchair user. Therefore, when she goes to the waiting room to wait for me to finish for the day, she got to know some of the parents (I work at a school). Yesterday, one of the parents was talking to mum and asked her who I was, and she came to me and told this man that I was her son. As soon as I heard that my face did a 180 forgetting what I was doing, I needed to make sure that was my mum and that my ears weren’t playing tricks and I heard right. I felt two emotions, happy tears and peace. I hope it wasn’t a mistake because I’ve been waiting to hear that word since I was a child. Just so I can remember the date yesterday was 23rd November 2018. A very positive day in the journey to becoming a man.

P.S Just one word can break or make a person’s day, think before you speak.

Asthma and Work

Like many all over the world, I suffered from asthma as a kid. As I entered adulthood, my asthma disappeared. Till now I had one last night. The best way of explaining an attack is when you’re underwater, and you can’t inhale or exhale oxygen, and I panicked. Thankful my brain clicked, and I pressed my bed remote to put myself into a sitting position so gravity will push air in my lungs. Since I had surgery and the doctors ordered me a lot of recovery time I’ve no sick leave left. I plan to take my inhaler with me and do alarms on my phone that will notify when I need to take my inhaler. Note to my lungs, you guys are strong, and we can do it.

September 12th: Books For My Younger Self
— This was recommended as a topic on twitter and I love it! Books that you wish your younger self would have read to learn a life lesson, get more self confidence, open your eyes to a new perspective, etc.

Beautiful Music for Ugly Children

As a child, I felt like I was the only transgender, so books like this one would have helped a lot.

Out of My Mind

The main character in this book has Cerebral Palsy. I have another type of Cerebral Palsy but, if this was out when I was growing up. It could’ve help people understand me more.

The Hate U Give

As a teen, I felt the need to talk about racism, back then not many books dealt with the issue. This book would’ve made easier for me to understand.

Wonder (Wonder, #1)

As most kids, I’ve been bullied because I was different and Wonder would’ve reminded me I’m not alone.

The Other Boy

I have a feeling that books like this one, would’ve helped me deal with my problems not hide them.

The Darkest Evening of the Year by Dean Koontz

I’ve been going up and down whether I want to write my thoughts on this book. This book made sad because it made feel stupid, I started this book think of mystery/ thriller because the way it begins. Chapter two the plot started making no sense to me, and I got confused whose character is who. Then the author begun skipping between the present and the past which mixed me up even more. Personal I don’t like the author’s writing style because it was tough for me to read. I gave this book a rating of two out of five stars. If any of you have read this book, please open my eyes and explain it to me.
