WWW Wednesdays #2

So, my email inbox is overflowing, but I want to get this post out really quickly, even if I will keep it short and sweet. Well, I want to write a movie review for Saturday, but I’m worried since it’s a holiday movie which might be out of season now. Anyway, I’m 6 books away from 50. Sam’s currently hosting WWW Wednesday from Taking On A World of Words.

Three holidays. Two coasts. One breakup recovery app.
Zero chance of staying just friends.

Alix swore off serious. Grace swore off messy.

Neither expected to fall for someone they met on a heartbreak anonymous app.

But when their holiday meet‑ups stretch from Miami to Colorado to LA, long distance and the fear of losing their friendship might be the only things standing in the way of something real.

Now they’ll have to decide if love is worth the leap. Because sometimes the season’s magic isn’t in the lights. It’s in who you find when you stop pretending you’re fine.

Breakup Buddies is a slow-burn, big-heart, super cozy sapphic rom-com about being seen and chosen, and then finding your way home for the holidays.

A heartfelt story about first love, environmental activism, and finding the courage to plant hope in concrete.

For the Shwartz family, survival was the only option. Their will to live, and a bit of luck, kept the family safe during the Holocaust, bringing them across Eastern Europe all the way to Israel.

In 1937, the Shwartz family lived a calm life in their small village in Poland. Fifteen-year-old Rachel liked to sing and go out dancing at a local night club, while her older brother David was busy running a farm and raising a family with his wife Hinda. But all that changed when the war reached Butla.

First, the Russians came and kicked them out of their house. Then, the Nazis came to cart them off. But the Shwartz family resisted. David decided that no matter what, his family would not be taken captive. Instead, he snuck his family out of their village, through a large forest, and into Hungary, a place that was supposed to be safe. But that didn’t last long. Again the Shwartz family found themselves on the run, escaping prison, Nazis, and bombings.

My Family’s Survival is the incredible true story of how the Shwartz family survived the Holocaust. It is a powerful tale of one family’s triumph during history’s darkest moments.
