The Nightmare Before Christmas

So, technically, this is the last holiday book tag I’m doing since the next one will be my end-of-year book tag. Hopefully, I will have enough time to make and post all the content in my mind. I feel I’m failing at Reindeer Readathon because, yes, I read all the books for the prompts, but haven’t submitted any, which is typically me, but I will. The cool thing about Blogmas or Vlogmas is that you see content that you don’t usually see from that creator. Today, I’m doing the Nightmare Before Christmas book tag, which was created by vivisbooks208.

Sally –loves someone a lot and gets them in the end

Goodreads Blurb:

A sweet romance where Christmas brings love and new beginnings for a single dad.
Moving back to Holly Ridge, I never imagined I’d be directing the school’s Christmas pageant—let alone with my childhood best friend Theo stepping in to help.

Theo isn’t the carefree boy from my memories, but a devoted single dad carrying the weight of his past while still making me smile with his charm. As we collaborate, our old bond rekindles, accompanied by an unexpected new tension.

With each rehearsal, I find myself drawn not only to Theo’s strength and kindness, but also to his daughter who has stolen my heart.

As Christmas approaches, we face a embrace the love blooming between us, or let the shadows of our past keep us apart.

Jack – a character that longs for more

Goodreads Blurb:

Samantha Bennett, a career-driven journalist in her early 30s, finds herself in a familiar yet distant place—her childhood hometown of Mapletown. Assigned by her editor to cover the restoration of an old Christmas carousel for the town’s Christmas Festival, Samantha reluctantly leaves the bustling streets of New York City for the nostalgic charm of the small town she hasn’t visited in over a decade. Haunted by memories of her late mother and a difficult departure from the place she once called home, Samantha sees the assignment as both a challenge and an opportunity for closure.
Upon arrival, Samantha runs into Henry, a former Marine and long time friend. Together they must fight against a wealthy investors who wants to tear down the cherish Christmas carousel.

Zero – side kick character

Goodreads Blurn:

A matchmaking aunt wants her nephew to find love under the mistletoe…

All doggy daycare owner Callie Andrews wants for Christmas is to win first prize this year. The annual window display competition is a huge event in Silver Falls, and she’s determined to showcase her success when her family visits her small town. It’s time for her parents and three older brothers to realize the “baby” of the family is thriving on her own.

The last thing Brandt Winslow wants to do is rehash the past, but returning home to Silver Falls means confronting the reason he left. His vacation, however, takes an unexpected turn when his well-meaning aunt meddles in his love life, and he finds himself caught up in her misguided efforts at matchmaking.

Despite their reluctance at being paired up, Callie and Brandt discover the holidays are full of surprises…and romance. But is the magic of Christmas strong enough to keep the couple together through the new year?

I picked Rex, Callie’s dog, as my sidekick character because my first dog had the same name.

Oogie boogie – a book with a wicked villain

Goodreads Blurb:

Courtrooms are meant to be places of order and logic.
This book is about all the times that failed spectacularly.

True & Absurd Lawsuits That Really Happened uncovers real legal cases so bizarre you’d swear they were made up. But every single one actually reached a courtroom.

Sherlock Grant breaks down these disputes with a dry wit and a clear legal lens, revealing

• a petty disagreement can explode into a full lawsuit
• everyday mistakes turn into claims worthy of a judge’s time
• ordinary people make extraordinary decisions under pressure

These are real cases from real courts — proof that the line between common sense and chaos is much thinner than you think.

As you can tell, there isn’t a single villain, but a few; in my opinion, there are a few here. If you enjoy court cases and the law, this one is for you.

Halloween town – a book with a creepy theme

Goodread Blurb:

My serious (and seriously hot) college professor has a naughty secret, and I’m his number one fan.

Three times a week, Noah Lowry adjusts his glasses at the front of my Plant Propagation class and half the class swoons. It’s so hard to contain this inappropriate crush on my teacher, and all I want is to be a good girl for him. I mean, a good student.

Once a week, an anonymous cowboy turns on his webcam and invites me into his secret fantasies. It’s the perfect distraction all term, until one night, after everyone else has logged off the livestream, he says something to the camera meant just for my online handle GoodGardenGirl—and I recognize my professor’s voice.

Now I have a shocking secret. I can’t look my teacher in the eye. But…that doesn’t stop me from falling asleep every night, dreaming of the sound of a big, heavy belt buckle opening.

I read it, but don’t get it. To me, it’s creepy plot-wise

Christmas town – a book that left you feeling warm and fuzzy

Goodreads Blurb:

Juniper Kringle is next in line to take over the family business. Her life’s goal, her legacy, is to sit next to her father in the sleigh on Christmas Eve, and to one day take the reins. Twenty-eight years old now and her dream is so close. All she needs to do is get through the last few weeks of the traditional Kringle Solo Trip. So far, it’s been uneventful. But then car trouble lands her in the middle of nowhere in outback Australia, in a place called Miracle Valley. A place that seems to have forgotten all about Christmas; an oddity so helpfully pointed out by the ever unhelpful head elf, Humphrey, during one of his unpredictable pop-in visits.

What is this -book that took you by surprise

Goodreads Blurb:

Sarah Garland, a retired homicide detective who’s gone through a painful divorce, seems to have found her peace at last, as a coffeeshop owner, in the sleepy (and freezing) small town of Snow Falls, Alaska. What she didn’t expect, was for her past life to catch up with her. Or, for her new life as a mystery writer to inspire a deadly killer to target her.

Yet, when the killer leaves a frightening clue-a creepy snowman, donning a leather jacket and eating a peppermint candy cane, left in front of her cabin-Sarah begins to suspect Conrad Spencer, the new detective in town, who is pursuing a murderer of his own. Soon, it becomes obvious that the sleuths would have to join forces, in order to catch the killer.

Sarah and Conrad must put their tragic pasts behind them and find out who’s after her…before the trail becomes frozen.

I didn’t see that one coming.
