Top Ten Tuesday/ Holiday Covers

Confession time, for whatever reason, I’m not remembering to add the books I read to Goodreads, so I have no clue where I’m in my 900 quest that is to reach 900 books read by the end of the year. I have to say that I haven’t read all the books in my list from last Wednesday, but I have read some books I have been wanting to get to since November, so I’m still happy about it. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl, who has a new weekly topic.

December 9: Books Set in Snowy Places (If snow isn’t your thing, pick another kind of place and share books set there!)

One locked house, one trapped poodle, and a turkey on the brink—will love survive the holiday havoc?

Laura and Ben are finally finding their rhythm – so what better time to introduce him to her delightfully eccentric family over Christmas brunch?

But when Freddie the miniature poodle ends up trapped and the oven’s already on, the day spirals into biblical-scale mayhem.

Can their budding romance survive the Scott family’s seasonal shenanigans? Or will Ben bolt faster than you can say ‘stuffing’?

Sometimes the holidays are messy… Christmas is the season of joy, mistletoe, and, unfortunately for Ryanne, the pressure of bringing home a date. When she vents to Elliott, her best friend and co-manager at the small-town office supply store, he impulsively grabs her phone and texts her mother that they’re dating.

Date. Ing.

I’m utterly speechless.

Elliott Hutson, the man who knows all my secrets, the one who’s never been serious with anyone, and the picture of Male Perfection that makes my pulse leap and frog, has now dived headfirst into my family drama. And as much as I pretend to be annoyed, I can’t deny the flutter in my heart.

I’ve never had a fake boyfriend before—getting a real one is hard enough—but Elliott makes everything look so easy. And I’m absolutely positive the twinkling lights and Justin Bieber Christmas tunes are influencing the way he keeps dropping his gaze to my mouth.

Or maybe I’m not absolutely positive. Maybe The Biebs really does make true love happen.

As we navigate the slippery slope of fake dating, the lines between pretend and reality blur. Our stolen glances over family meals become lingering looks. Our playful banter near sprigs of mistletoe turns into something charged with real emotion.

Suddenly, the festive chaos around us isn’t the only thing that’s messy.

Our feelings are too.

And as the countdown to Christmas ticks on, I start to wonder if this holiday ruse might lead to the most unexpected gift of all — true love.

Will this façade end with the holiday season, or can we unwrap a future together we never saw coming?

Maybe at Christmastime, the most unexpected love story can unfold.

When Santa’s daughter leaves the North Pole on a baking quest, will her sweet dreams turn fatally sour?

Cindy Claus is excited to open her own bakery. She’s determined to pursue her passion and have her holiday treats prove she’s more than a Yuletide heir. But before she can whisk up a success, her roommate is murdered and Cindy is the prime suspect.

With finding the real killer the only way to beat the rap, Cindy relies on the kindness of strangers and her father’s trusted arctic fox. But without a recipe for success in the unfamiliar human world, grilling the wrong suspects could put her behind bars…

Can Cindy sift out the clues before she’s done and dusted?

Love wasn’t on her holiday menu… until a billionaire showed up to ruin her Christmas plans—and maybe heal her broken heart (if she doesn’t strangle him first).

After a broken heart, Sarah Nash returns to her hometown of Dexington, hoping to find peace—and maybe a little Christmas magic.

What she doesn’t expect is to bump into Phillip Dexington, the town’s most eligible bachelor, a healthcare billionaire… and her first kiss.

When they’re paired to help at the local orphanage, old sparks reignite amid twinkling lights and laughter. But with Christmas fast approaching, can Phillip convince Sarah to take a chance on love again—or will the past keep them apart?

Full of warmth, humor, and holiday charm, Christmas in Dexington is a heartwarming romance about forgiveness, second chances, and the magic of coming home.

Goodreads Blurb:

Cassidy, a talented baker in her twenties, is focused on running her cozy city bakery during the bustling Christmas season. But when Avery, a free-spirited graphic designer from her past, returns to Marlowe City for the holidays, sparks fly and not just from the ovens.

As they work together on a special holiday dessert, laughter turns to lingering touches, and stolen glances ignite feelings Cassidy has tried to ignore for years. But with family expectations, lingering insecurities, and the magic of a snowy city as their backdrop, their love feels both thrilling and forbidden.

Wanted: Baker to start fresh in a small town. Must maintain a low profile, avoid complications, and definitely not fall for the competition.

Marco thought Frost Harbor would be safe. A new name, a new bakery, and six hundred miles between him and the man who put him in witness protection.

Simon Ashford is the town’s beloved baker, all steady hands and patient smiles. He fixes Marco’s oven, brings him welcome baskets, and makes Marco want things he can’t afford to have. But wanting Simon means putting him in danger, and Marco has already cost too many people too much.

As holiday threats escalate, Marco must choose between running again or trusting Simon enough to fight back. The gingerbread village they’re building together for the Winter Festival isn’t the only thing at stake, it’s Marco’s chance at a life where love doesn’t taste like fear.

Winter

I hate Christmas.

Every single strand of tinsel and twinkling light and the jolly jingles too.

But going home to the small town of Whispering Peaks, North Carolina is tradition, even if I’ll spend the holiday alone.

At least, that’s the plan until my childhood enemy, Nick Frost, forces his way into my small cabin, calling a truce to our lifelong rivalry with a kiss beneath the mistletoe.

Nick

I haven’t seen Winter Snow in years, but she’s coming home for the holidays.
The moment she lays eyes on me, her beautiful face a hard scowl, I realize she probably hasn’t forgiven me for teasing her as a kid. But I’m a man on mission, and that’s to make Winter mine.

Can I melt the ice around Winter’s heart or will I spend Christmas tangled up with the grump?
