Top Ten Tuesday /Series

I’m not really into series, even though I have a bunch by Eve Lovelle and Edge Walker. However, indie authors Eva writes mainly female-female romance, and Edge writes male-male romance. They are short and can be read as a standalone. I hope it’s okay to share some of the ones I still need to read.

October 7: Satisfying Book Series (Maybe all the books were amazing or there wasn’t any second book syndrome or the final book wrapped everything up soooo perfectly.)

Goodreads Blurb:

When perfectionist pastry chef Ben Wilson finds his prime food truck spot stolen by David Chen’s sleek Asian fusion truck, their rivalry ignites The Loop’s food scene. But as a scheduling glitch forces them to share space, their culinary competition transforms into something unexpected. After a series of pranks and secret taste tests reveal mutual respect, the rivals find themselves reluctantly partnering for LoveByte’s fusion food festival. Working side-by-side in David’s kitchen leads to delicious creations and simmering attraction. As they blend Ben’s sweet techniques with David’s traditional flavors, they discover that sometimes the most unexpected combinations create the perfect recipe—not just for award-winning desserts, but for love.

When ambitious architect Maya Rodriguez drunkenly manifests “someone who will sweep me off my feet” at a crystal shop workshop, she expects nothing to happen. Instead, she’s literally knocked down by runaway puppies, tackled by golden retrievers, and crashed into by the most gorgeous marine biologist in Manifestation Bay.

There’s just one cosmic problem: Dr. Rebecca Martinez is fighting to save the exact ecosystem that Maya’s luxury resort project will destroy. As Maya falls head over heels (literally and figuratively), she discovers that the universe has a wicked sense of humor—and that sometimes getting exactly what you wish for means losing everything you thought you wanted.

Can Maya choose between her career and her conscience? Can Rebecca trust the woman who’s been her professional enemy? And why do all the local animals seem determined to knock Maya flat on her back?

Sometimes the universe knows better than you do.

When brilliant astrophysicist Dr. Marcus Winters arrives at Palomar Observatory for his first solo research assignment, he expects to map invisible dark matter—not fall for the enigmatic telescope technician who sees poetry in gravitational forces. James Parker sacrificed graduate school to care for his family, but his insights into cosmic mysteries rival any PhD. As they work together through starlit nights, hunting for binary dark matter systems, Marcus discovers that some attractions operate by laws more fundamental than physics. But when a prestigious collaboration threatens to pull them apart, Marcus must choose between the career he’s always wanted and the love he never saw coming. In the space between stars, two hearts find their perfect orbit—if they’re brave enough to defy gravity.

Marcus Thompson thought he was coming to Barcelona to master Spanish. Instead, he discovers that the most important conversations happen in the spaces between languages—where a lost American student and a charming local guide navigate false friends, subjunctive moods, and the untranslatable grammar of falling in love.

As Marcus’s fluency grows, so does his connection with Diego, but some feelings resist translation entirely. When your semester abroad is ending and your heart is just beginning to speak a new language, how do you say goodbye to the person who taught you that home isn’t a place—it’s the feeling of being completely understood?

When skeptical historian Thomas Blackwood arrives at Ravenscroft Manor to document its famous haunting, he uncovers more than academic research—he finds a tragic love story spanning centuries. Through intimate sketches and forgotten letters, Thomas pieces together the passionate affair between Captain James Harrington and William Foster, lovers separated not just by society but by an ancient entity that claimed James as its own. As the mansion’s shadows grow more substantial around him, Thomas faces an impossible choice: surrender to the same possessive force that consumed James, or complete the ritual that might free them all. In this gothic tale of desire and sacrifice, the line between scholarly detachment and dangerous obsession blurs, proving that some passions transcend even death.

Dr. Elizabeth Hartley boards the Sappho’s Dream expecting a peaceful writing retreat to finish her Jane Austen biography. Instead, she finds Riley Summers—a free-spirited street artist with paint-stained fingers and zero respect for Elizabeth’s carefully planned schedule—claiming the same cabin.

Forced to share impossibly small quarters, the uptight literature professor and the spontaneous muralist clash over everything from morning routines to the meaning of art. But when Riley quotes Austen with surprising depth and Elizabeth discovers the social conscience behind Riley’s vibrant community murals, their initial prejudices begin to crack.

From disastrous shore excursions in Rome to intimate painting lessons under Mediterranean stars, Elizabeth finds herself questioning everything she thought she knew about passion, propriety, and what it means to truly live. When her condescending ex-fiancé unexpectedly boards the ship, Elizabeth must choose between the safe, respectable life she’s always known and the colorful, authentic future Riley offers.

When reserved insurance agent Lauren Montgomery reluctantly joins her sister’s lakeside vacation, she expects two weeks of polite boredom—not a life-changing encounter with Jules Vargas, Lake Meridian’s charismatic lifeguard. After Jules rescues Lauren from an awkward party, their unexpected connection deepens through midnight kayak adventures, wine tastings under the stars, and a community emergency that reveals Jules’s quiet heroism. As Lauren finds herself drawn into deeper waters—both literally and emotionally—she faces her greatest challenge: trusting the current of desire instead of fighting against it. With Lauren’s departure date approaching fast, both women must decide if what they’ve found is worth the risk of navigating uncharted waters. This warm, captivating romance explores how some rescues leave both people changed forever, and how the things we once feared can become our greatest salvation.

When art student Riley needs a fake girlfriend to make her manipulative ex jealous, she strikes a deal with ambitious business major Madison Clarke—networking opportunities in exchange for one night of pretending. But between dress shopping and dancing, their carefully planned performance starts feeling dangerously real. Madison’s controlling parents and Riley’s chaotic creativity should be incompatible, yet somehow they find themselves wanting the same thing: permission to choose happiness over expectation. A contemporary lesbian romance about learning to fight for what you want, even when it doesn’t fit anyone else’s plan for your life.
