WWW Wednesdays #21

In terms of LGBTI+ books for next month, I say I might be covered since I have around 50 in my Kindle and 20 from books I downloaded. I’m 26 books away from 300 books read, so I doubt I will manage by the end of the month as I had planned. I’m looking for a readathon that has teams for next month since I miss those, so if you know of one, please let me know. I wanted to review two thrillers last weekend, but I didn’t manage due to scheduling posts for June, family commitments, and tiredness from the heat. Maybe I’ll try again next weekend, since I can stay at home. This reminds me that I’m behind on emails, so I apologise to those I haven’t seen. Sam is currently hosting WWW Wednesday from Taking On A World of Words.

Jacques Fontaine always wanted to serve but he never expected to lead this band of brothers. Different nationalities, different languages, a collection of misfits. And the world’s elite terrorist hunters. Sent to Iraq during the US drawdown on what appears to be a routine investigation, they find themselves under attack from insurgents, the military and unseen forces with widespread political connections.

With their careers—if not their lives—under threat, Fontaine must lead his unit through the fire if this isn’t to become their final tour of duty.

Being jilted nearly-at-the-altar by text message is not at all how Roxy Rose thought her wedding day would go.

Getting dragged along anyway on her Hawaiian honeymoon by her self-centered sister and irreverent grandma is the icing on the horrible wedding-day cake.

Can Kai, the resort’s hunky and talented chauffeur / bartender / flame-thrower, turn this disaster of a trip into a romantic adventure to last a lifetime? Or will his mysterious secrets keep their love from blossoming?

Goodreads Blurb:

They’re engaged in a dangerous game of espionage. But the bigger scandal these two ladies risk is the joy they find in each other’s arms…

England, 1807. Miss Melanie Bright longs to escape the shadow of disgrace. Still haunted by her parent’s mistakes, the shunned debutante seizes on a hopeful chance by sharing a roof with a well-respected noblewoman. But when her patron proves to be a beautifully reckless daredevil, she’s quickly seduced by the breathtaking promise of foreign escapades.

Lady Evelyn Prynne hides deep wounds behind her madcap reputation. Determined to track down and expose a French spy, she refuses to let her gorgeous guest become a distraction. Yet as they face perilous gaming halls, Lebanese deserts, and gunfire side by side, she’s intrigued by the backbone of steel beneath her delightful new companion’s dainty exterior.

Wondering if the ton’s favor is still her coveted goal, Melanie questions why she’s so desperate to please her tough benefactress. And even as Lady Evelyn revels in having found a confidante who can finally keep pace with her fiery nature, she continues to plunge them into darker dangers.
