WWW Wednesday #13

Okay, I had to turn off my laptop so as not to be tempted to download more audiobooks. I downloaded about 15, but in my defence, I have a plan for a post or at least in my head, it sounds cool. This weekend, my friend Barbara is doing a reading challenge, so fingers crossed I get in a mood where I won’t be able to focus on reading or blogging, which would be very unfortunate since I only have posts scheduled until Friday, so I really need to get myself going.

Plus, I have eight novels in my original March TBR that I would have to finish in five days, which isn’t something I think I can make happen, but I will sure try. Sometimes, I feel I don’t belong in the book community, especially when it comes to readathons, since, more often than not, I don’t understand the game element and don’t let me begin on the issue I have with remembering to log books for points. Sam is currently hosting WWW Wednesday from Taking On A World of Words.

GLITTER BATS REUNION CONCERT—SOLD OUT! When two former bandmates—and bedmates—are thrust back into each other’s lives in a fake dating scheme for publicity, they’ll be forced to face the music. After her recurring role in tabloid headlines, Valerie Quinn’s musical TV show is on the network chopping block. Desperate for good press, she hastily reassembles her wildly beloved pop punk band, Glitter Bats. A reunion concert could be the former lead vocalist’s ticket to a media makeover, especially if it renews public speculation around her iconic situationship with bassist Caleb Sloane. The only problem? They haven’t spoken in six years. Caleb had the makings of a rock god, but fallout from the messy Glitter Bats breakup left him broke, anxious, and resentful of the industry. But when Valerie shows up at Caleb’s doorstep with that devastating smile and a plea for help, he reluctantly agrees to put on one last show. So what if the fandom assumes the two of them are back together too? They’ll play along. You know…for the press. Making music together not only revives the harmony between them, but also the discord that led to the band’s downfall. With their futures—and the Glitter Bats—in the balance, can they survive a romantic reprise?

When it comes to love, Farzan Alavi is a disaster. After his most recent heartbreak, he’s drowning his sorrows at Kansas City’s newest wine bar. Only instead of being crowded between strangers, he’s escorted to a VIP table for one. There, the hot sommelier does more than treat him to the meal of his life. The way he flirts with Farzan ignites instant sparks.

There’s just one problem: David Curtis thinks Farzan is Frank Allen, Kansas City’s most influential food critic. The truth only comes out after the two spend an unforgettably hot night together. Good news—both think the mix-up is hilarious. Bad news—David is studying to become a master sommelier and has no interest in a relationship.

Neither expects their paths to cross again . . . until Farzan inherits his family’s bistro and needs David’s restaurant knowledge. The two agree to an exchange: David will answer Farzan’s questions, and Farzan will help David study for his test. Only business turns to pleasure when neither can ignore the attraction still sizzling between them. But with David set on moving after his test, and Farzan committed to his family’s restaurant, how can their relationship last past the expiration date?
