WWW Wednesdays #4

I’m not having as productive weekends as I like to in terms of reading and blogging since I have hung out with family quite a bit for the last two weekends. Next Friday is my birthday, so I will be lucky to reblog the content for next week, but I know I will manage somehow since I always do. I always have to re-read The Downers by David A Anderson, an ARC the author gave me for review, but from my first read, I don’t have a solid base of thoughts where I can do a review. I’m on my 38th read, which is low for my typical reading speed, but I have other things going on. Sam is currently hosting WWW Wednesday from Taking On A World of Words.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

Goodreads Blurb:

Propelled by a wave of atrocities, the government introduces a severe code of capital punishment. They designed The Rules to rid England of serious crime, but they failed. They said The Rules were infallible, but they lied.

Christian Ledger, an innocent man and a talented artist is charged with a fatal stabbing. Christian is heading for the ‘slaughterhouse’ because no one will listen to his pleas. Is the secret he carries enough to save his life?

CSI Eddie Collins, a reluctant hero with one failed suicide attempt behind him, suddenly wants to live when the police hunt him down for shooting a colleague. And now he’s on the government’s list too, and he’s running. But they’re getting closer by the minute…

Goodreads Blurb:

Life goes from simple to complicated for a wrung out single mom when a Grade-A, smoking hot firefighter moves in down the street.

Things get a little exciting, and not in the good, panty-melting sort of way. Not only does someone want her dead (seriously), she has to wrangle her out-of-control desires where the new neighbor is concerned and convince her meddling boss at the small town’s only adult toy store to leave the new hose-wielding hottie off her matchmaking radar.

But it’s not all chaos and pancakes. There’s Ty. And his smoking hot body. Smoking hot kisses. He’s burning the walls around her heart to nothing but ash. And she just might be falling in love…if she can stay alive long enough.

Goodreads Blurb:

She has his dead wife’s heart; the one she wants is his. The author of The Family Plot brings her signature prose to a twisty novel about a heart transplant patient who becomes romantically obsessed with her donor’s husband.

Rosie Lachlan wants nothing more than to find The One.

A year after she was dumped in her wedding dress, she’s working at her parents’ bridal salon, anxious for a happy ending that can’t come soon enough. After receiving a life-saving heart transplant, Rosie knows her health is precious and precarious. She suspects her heart donor is Daphne Thorne, the wife of local celebrity author Morgan Thorne, who she begins messaging via an anonymous service called DonorConnect, ostensibly to learn more about Daphne. But Rosie has a secret: She’s convinced that now that she has his wife’s heart, she and Morgan are meant to be together.

As she and Morgan correspond, the pretense of avoiding personal details soon disappears, even if Rosie’s keeping some cards close to her chest. But as she digs deeper into Morgan’s previous marriage, she discovers disturbing rumors about the man she’s falling for. Could Morgan have had something to do with his late wife’s death? And can Rosie’s heart sustain another break—or is she next?
