In the early hours of today, I saw a video in which actor Rowan Sebastian Atkinson, AKA Mr Bean, said he isn’t on social media since he doesn’t find it relaxing. While I agree with him, the only people I talk to outside of family and co-workers are on social media, so if I were to unplug, I would become a hermit. How can one book put me in a reading slump? Anyway, tomorrow is my first day back at work, so I need to learn to rant less and write shorter posts/reviews.
By the way, I downloaded five books from my Kindle and read the first line of each; the line that got me in was, “CAN I LIVE IN a haunted house?” I picked up and finished A Prince on the Run by Kristy K. James, and the same novel can be found under the title Laying Low in Paradise by Kristy K. James, so if you want to check it out, don’t get confused as I did. I’m scared to say this, but this wasn’t a cover buy for sure since I disliked all the cover versions it has.
As you might have guessed from the title, it is about a royal family from a small country who find themselves in serious trouble, so there is a sense of mystery for sure. Do you know what my dilemma here is? I don’t know if I would put some of the cast as main or side characters. Anyway, the ‘kids’ were written beautifully, but I would change some scenes as the writer in me wouldn’t be able to resist it. I don’t understand what the religious notes she left at the end have to do with the book itself, but oh well. It is self-published work so I’m glad I have read and somewhat reviewed it.
