This Week’s Prompt

July 8th: Top of the TBR
These are the books you’re meaning to read this year but didn’t get to in the first half.

Since the Reading Rush is getting closer and this week’s prompt is top books on your TBR, I thought I could mash the two together.

First of all, what is the reading Rush Readathon?

The Reading Rush, formerly known as BOOKTUBEATHON, is being hosted by Ariel and Raeleen. This year like last year. They created a website, where you can have your own profile, keeping up with how many pages you’re reading a day and earn badges. It’s starting from July 20th -26th 2020.

The challenges:

1/ Read a book with a cover that matches the colour of your birthstone.

January Birthstones are Garnet and Black Onyx - Birthstone for Sale
Garnet

Garnet is my birthstone so, I needed to find a book with red on the cover, so I’m counting the red flower on the cover of The Heart Does Not Bend by Makeda Silvera.

2/ Read a book that starts with the word “The”.

Since The Heart Does Not Bend by Makeda Silvera starts with ‘the’ in the title, so it counts.

3/ Read a book that inspired a movie you’ve already seen.

For this challenge, I picked The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving by Jonathan Evison.

4/ Read the first book you touch.

So here how I’m doing this one, I’m going on my Goodreads TBR and go on the sort button and pick random. Then the first book that comes up I’ll read that.

5/ Read a book completely outside of your house.

For reading a book outside the house, I’m picking up Dust of Eden by Mariko Nagai since it’s a short read written in verse.

6/ Read a book in a genre that you’ve always wanted to read more of.

This book has some of the tropes I hate but still going to give a try because the point for this challenge is to read out of your comfort zone.

Fire Baptized (Santeria Habitat, #1)

7/ Read a book that takes place on a different continent than where you live.

From what I read about this book is set Africa and I live in Europe, so it is a different continent than mine since I live in Europe.
