Yesterday was book day, but I needed to go to my dad’s house, so I didn’t have the time to post about it. I did get some books that I would like to share, but then a blogger I follow posted about the Ruby Frankie case. I tried to look up the documentary to watch it right away, but I couldn’t find it, so I’m watching interviews and stuff like that. An hour later, I found the link to the first episode, so I likely watched that before I posted this. Hint: nearly a day has passed, and I haven’t posted it, but I’m determined, so here are the two thrillers and two contemporaries I got.

In theory, Ethan Masters is not opposed to the wife, kids and house with a white picket fence. But he loves his career as a K-9 handler in the air force, and a dream promotion dangles before him like dog tags. While contemplating his future, he accepts a drunken bet for a blind date, never dreaming that the captivating woman fits perfectly into his ideal, all-American dream. Only one problem. She’s gun-shy about all things military.

A missing child, a murky past, and a race against time – buckle up for a thrilling ride in this novel by the bestselling author of Twelve Years Gone and The Moscow Brief. The story takes place in the small town of Highmill, New York, where the tight-knit community is thrown into chaos after the disappearance of five-year-old Bella, daughter of K9 officer Logan Fletcher.
Dr. Skye Johnston, a psychologist trying to escape her own past, is called to the scene to help with the investigation. But as she delves deeper into the case, she realizes she may be in over her head.
As Skye and Logan uncover more clues, they realize that Bella’s disappearance may be connected to a much larger and more sinister plot – one that puts them both in grave danger

Lies. Betrayal. Deceit. Welcome to Brookhaven, where nothing is ever what it seems…
Ainsley Layne is running from something—or someone. Sheriff Dare Jensen can see it in the way she watches her surroundings, the way she flinches away from him every time he comes near. Though she tries to hide the shadows in her eyes, the dark bruises that riddle her body tell their own dark tale.
Dare knows that winning her trust won’t be easy. She’s been hurt too many times and, despite his offer of a safe haven, she refuses to confide in him. Until the killings begin…
When a young woman is found strangled to death and left posed on a park bench, the murder rocks the small town of Brookhaven. Coinciding so closely with Ainsley’s arrival, Dare can’t help but wonder… Is it a coincidence? Or is it somehow connected to the woman residing under his roof?
