I had been trying to figure out a way to talk about my quarter reads when I saw this tag on Journey Into Books, and I thought it would be fun to do. However, I don’t know who the original creator is.
How many books have you read so far?
I’m about 173 books out of 200 goal; a recent favourite of mine I read was Legendary Rock Star: Enemies to Lovers Romance by Victoria Pinder. It’s not a surprise I liked it since it is a spin-off of the voice show.
Have you already found a book you think might be a 2022 favourite?
I have already read some great books like The Book of Pride: LGBTQ Heroes Who Changed the World by Mason Funk and A History of My Brief Body by Billy-Ray Belcourt. Nevertheless, the novel that I know will stay in my mind is Love & Other Disasters by Anita Kelly.
If not what was your favourite book you read that wasn’t quite five star?
There is a sort of way a five stars novel makes me feel so. While Amina’s Voice by Hena Khan was close, it quite took me there.
Any 1 star books / least favourite book of the year?
Rebound (Tryst Island #1) by Sabrina York didn’t give me the details and the background I needed from the story.
Most read genre so far?
I’m happy to say that I have read 97 books that were LGBT+ with different genres so far.
A book that surprised you?
Usually, I’m not too fond of erotica, but with the respect that Marcus and Eric showed towards each other really got me into it.
Book that’s come out in 2022 already that you want to read but haven’t yet?
There are so many, but I picked three:
- And They Lived . . by Steven Salvatore
- The Temperature of Me and You by Brian Zepka
- Kiss & Tell by Adib Khorram
Three queer romances I can’t wait to get to.
One goal you made that you’re succeeding at?
I am learning not to stress myself if I don’t manage to read an x amount of books.
One goal you made you need to focus on?
I have a huge backlog of old kindle I need to go through, but I have no time, and today I got stuck in a YouTube hole.
