Okay, doing this readathon sounds a bit crazy for two reasons: I never played Animal Crossing, nor do I have the PS4 you need to play it. The second reason I still have a bunch of thrillers I have to read, so yes, I think I need a bookish miracle here. Since I don’t know a lot about this game, I will share all the hosts’ information. I’m heading into this readathon very unprepared, so bear with me. Hosts are Saima @ Storieswithsaima and Caitlyn @ teatimelit. Dates April 1st – 15th 2022.

ABOUT THE READATHON
To get started, you’ll first want to create your ‘Passport’. Click here to access the Passport templates. Simply fill in your name, your island’s name, favorite genre to read, and any social media handles you’d like to share! For your passport picture, you can either use a picture from your own character in Animal Crossing, or you can make your own from some picrew makers, such as these (1 and 2). If you’re struggling to customize your passport, try using canva or Photopea!
If you’d like to use the Animal Crossing font, it’s called Fink, and can be found here.
Here are some examples of passports, if you’re stuck:

Once that’s done, it’s time to choose your reading prompts! Each island has anywhere from two to ten villagers at any given point in time, and it’s up to you to determine how many villagers you have. We’ve broken up prompts by each villager type (cranky, jock, lazy, normal, peppy, sisterly, smug, and snooty) to make it a little easier for you! To fill up your island residents, you can choose a range of prompts from different villager personalities, or all of them from one type as well! After picking out your prompts, you can choose villagers that correspond to each personality type from here and upload them to your resident sheet/passport here.
Just like in the game, there are also several NPCs on your island that are a permanent fixture, and some that are visitors! Each NPC has a corresponding prompt, and you’re welcome to choose as many NPC prompts as you’d like.
Whether it’s through getting a villager in your campsite (which we’ll post about on our socials when this happens), a villager asking to leave, or you simply kicking them out, there are many opportunities to switch out the villagers on your island! Don’t fret if you end up wanting a different selection of villagers, or if you simply want to knock out more prompts! You’re also allowed to double up on prompts as much as you’d like.
You can view the list of prompts here or by scrolling to the next section.
While there’s a lot of prompts in this read-a-thon, feel free to pick and choose the ones you feel inspired by! Do as much, or as little, as you’d like to do – the purpose of this is to have fun, make new friends, and read more books!

My TBR:

As you can see, I picked the Prompts from Peppy and here are the prompts:
Read a bestseller

Read a book about or with a fictional celebrity

Read a book with art in it

I’m cheating here or sort of because, with every chapter, there is a small doughnut design, and I’m counting it as art.
Read a book by your favourite author

Read a fantasy

Read a lighthearted/fun book

Read a short book/novella
