Reading Blog #5

This week has been a struggle when it comes to my dyslexia. I don’t like talking about being dyslexic, and when it comes to my blog, I feel I can hide it pretty well since I have the help Grammarly, and the read-out aloud option makes my words readable somewhat.

On Monday, I started Delilah Green Doesn’t Care (Bright Falls #1) by Ashley Herring Blake, and I kept reading a few chapters and starting it because I couldn’t focus. I had some tension in my life, and it looked like I was reading Chinese. However, on my 7th time, I got the hang of it. It gave me Cinderella vibes which, if you know me, you know I love. Now I have read five out of the seven novels currently out by Ashley Herring Blake, and the other two are on my TBR.

For some reason, I enjoy Ashley’s writing more when she writes in the middle-grade genre. Having said that, I will read Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail when it comes out in November, which continues in the Bright Fall series. I also read Just One Night (Castleton Hearts #1) by Chelsea M. Cameron, and the best I can describe it is friends to lovers. It is short and sweet, and I gave it four stars. The final book I read was Homie by Danez Smith, and I might get some hate for this, but in my opinion, it needs a tiny kick to take it to the next level.
