Top Ten Tuesday/ Spring TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by thatartsyreadergirl with a new topic every week.

March 15: Books On My Spring 2022 TBR

I’m in the mood for some mystery/thriller, so I looked on my kindle and found ten that I added to my TBR. I remember that I had a lot more thrillers in my kindle, but I don’t know where they went, but anyway, here are the ten I picked.

Goodreads Blurb:

“I’m coming for you. You will never escape me.” She’s the most dangerous inmate in the hospital for the criminally insane…and she just broke out. When Trey Campbell takes his family to Catalina Island, his escaped patient leaves a trail of bodies behind as she hunts for her one true love – from a previous life.

Goodreads Blurb:

What would you give, how far would you go, to find a lost child and redeem your soul? And will it ever be far enough?

Ten years ago, Linda Clayton’s son Daniel disappeared. The love and support of her husband Robbie was all that kept her sane—until the day he ran away. Makes you thankful you’re not Linda Clayton.

Wise-cracking, street-smart PI Evan Buckley thought his problems were bad enough. When his latest case ends in disaster, he’s at the end of his tether—until fate throws him headlong into Linda Clayton’s desperate world and a long-dead investigation that everybody wants to stay that way.

But Evan never does what everybody wants, and he vows to uncover the truth—and in the process kick into touch the demons that come to torment him every night.

As the suspense ratchets up, he’s caught in a desperate fight for his life with a stone cold killer who will go to any lengths to protect his secrets …

Goodreads Blurb:

Adam isn’t sure he isn’t a serial killer.

He has long been worried that he might be. Lately he’s been having the sense that the only thing keeping him from that path is his wife, Selena, who understands the mind of serial killers rather better than the general public.

So when a rash of murders disturbs the sleepy town of Almond Park, California, and Selena is asked to help with the investigation, Adam is not sure he won’t be found out.

If he is, he’ll lose everything that truly matters to him.

Goodreads Blurb:

Attorney Garrett Goodlove thought that after his firm brought in a multi-million-dollar settlement, the depression he’d been fighting would disappear. That didn’t happen. Because he no longer has to struggle to keep Goodlove and Shek afloat, he has too much time to obsess over his moods.

When a new client brings in an envelope labelled “Open ONLY if something happens to me,” Goodlove puts it in the firm’s safe and goes back to neglecting his practice.

But when the client disappears, Goodlove knows he must overcome his problem and take charge. But beating depression is hard.

Things get worse when the client turns up wandering the back alleys of San Francisco and is indicted for murder. Turns out the man is suffering from profound amnesia, making the case the most difficult of Goodlove’s career.

If Garrett Goodlove can’t get a grip and overcome his depression, the new client might spend his life in prison for a murder he—probably—didn’t commit.

Goodreads Blurb:

When ex-Navy SEAL Abram Kinkaid is recruited to assassinate the Prime Minister of Canada by a rogue outfit that claims to have the United States’ best interests in mind, the demons of his past quickly return to haunt him. Caught between the past and the present, truth and lies, death or life, Abram must make a choice. Refuse and risk death; or assassinate the Prime Minister and embrace the darkness within.

The veil between reality and fantasy quickly blurs as Abram is thrust into a world of espionage and murder, where terrorists are merely mercenaries for hire. Will killing the Prime Minister set him free of his past, or only serve to enslave him further to the very corruption he’s sworn to destroy?

Goodreads Blurb:

An ambitious plan to switch two planes in mid-air began as an online game…but now it is more…much more. It is one of a select number of plans to mastermind the perfect crime and only a chosen few will play for real.

From Washington DC to the London Underground, can Special Agent Mitchell Parker and his team shut down the crimes before it is too late?

If you love it when a plan comes together, hold on tight, because nothing is about to go right!

Goodreads Blurb:

There is a serial killer out there.

A serial killer targeting young men.

A serial killer who appears to be Linda’s sister Elizabeth.

Linda’s dead sister Elizabeth.

But it can’t be Elizabeth. She’s dead.

Right?

Could she still be alive? Or somehow back from the grave?

Or, maybe something even darker is happening … something that threatens Linda’s life, as well.

Something that has been buried for years in the secrets and lies of her twisted family history.

Can she discover the truth before it’s too late?

Goodreads Blurb:

The body count is rising…

When psychopath Daniel Moxley makes his escape while being escorted to Broadmoor high security prison, he sets off on a trail of bloody revenge, leaving police forces throughout the north of England floundering in his wake.

Moxley’s paranoia has him seemingly selecting victims at random.

The only thing they have in common is the gruesome nature of their killings.

Police, prison warders and even old ladies have been the target of Moxley’s cold-blooded murder spree.

When Detective Inspector Vinnie Palmer is assigned to the case, Moxley decides that he too must die, but not before he has led him from one blood-soaked scene to another.

Among his victims is Vinnie’s offsider, Detective Constable Rob Hill, who he discovers has his own dark and destructive secret that rips Vinnie’s life apart.

With the help of Moxley’s psychiatrist, Vinnie delves deep into the man’s criminal past and uncovers a history of corrupt police, sexual coercion and gaol brutality.

But when Vinnie closes in on Moxley and takes the law into his own hands, he ends up suspended and stripped of his police powers.

Determined not to let Moxley escape justice, Vinnie continues his pursuit of the maniac as a private citizen.

He teams up with determined television reporter Christine Jones and together they pursue Moxley north to Scotland and back again.

But the killer always seems to be one step ahead, leaving a trail mutilated bodies in his wake.

Lured on by Moxley’s taunts, Vinnie discovers that it is his own wife – a fellow police worker – who has been an unwitting aid in Moxley’s deadly deeds.

As a result, his suspension is lifted in time for him and Christine to gain full police support and finally confront Moxley in a terrifying final encounter.

But is it too late?

The action-packed and full of gruesome detail, Nemesis is Roger’s first story in the new Badge and the Pen series that features detective inspector Vinnie Palmer.

Goodreads Blurb:

Suicide or the perfect cover-up?

Kenzi Brannon loves the single life in California. She hasn’t looked back since the day she walked away from her painful past.

Everything comes crashing down when Kenzi gets a call about her estranged sister’s suicide. If that news isn’t shocking enough, she also learns that she is now guardian to Ember, a niece she doesn’t even know.

Kenzi heads up north and finds herself in her family’s long-abandoned house. Neighbors whisper rumors of hauntings, but Kenzi has a more serious concern—mounting evidence points to her sister’s death not being self-inflicted.

When things in the house move seemingly on their own, Ember thinks it’s ghosts. But Kenzi fears something far more sinister. Could the person who killed her sister now be after her and her niece?

Goodreads Blurb:

She should never have let her go. That was her first mistake. She trusted him. That was her second…

When a stranger leaves stepsisters, Victoria and Ness, a half-share in a house in Holland, they think it must be a mistake.
But there’s no mistake when Ness goes missing.

Desperate for the truth, Victoria travels from Guernsey to Holland to find out what’s happened to her. Has she, as her texts show, embarked on a whirlwind romance? Has someone abducted her or even worse?

What she doesn’t know is there’s someone watching, and that person wants her dead.
Can Victoria find out the truth before it’s too late?
