Am I the only one this happens to? I tell myself you aren’t allowed to watch this or that episode until you finish what you’re doing. The issue that I have when I’m doing that my mind keeps blanking. Especially when I’m working, and I start sidling off my chair, I notice that I wouldn’t be able to focus on what I’m doing. Anyway, back to those episodes I was talking about.
As I mentioned in one of my posts this past week, I started 2022 watching Queer Eye season 6, and if I had to pick, one thing that I took away from the first episode was vital it is to express your feelings to the ones you love because it’s the way to strengthen a relationship. I know it doesn’t look like it, but I find it pretty tricky to say what I’m feeling deep down.
For me, the second episode is called ANGEL GETS HER WINGS, hit way closer to home than I thought it would. I mean, I knew it would be hard-hitting since she’s a transwoman power-lifter. When she started to talk with Karamo about the guilt that she felt she caused her family simply by being herself was too much for me to handle it all at once. So, I had to step back give myself a few days before I continued watching.
At one point, Karamo helped Angel’s dad and Angel to have an open and honest conversation. After they talked, you could actually see that some healing was done. I honestly wish for all LGBT+ people to have that chance. It goes without saying that the house and physical makeover fits Angel and her girlfriend perfectly.
