Some Free Ebooks (Book Haul)

As promised, here are some free ebooks I found on Amazon, which sounded interesting, at least to me. I’m aiming for different genres so everyone can find a book they would at least give a try. I will put the blurb and the link for each book.

Girl Missing (Kaitlyn Carr #1)

Goodreads Blurb:

Don’t lie to me…

A young girl from a wealthy family is found hanging from a tree in a secluded canyon.

What was she doing there in the middle of the night? How did she get there? Who did this to her? Detective Kaitlyn Carr is determined to find out and bring the killer to justice.

But when her thirteen-year-old sister vanishes on her way back from a friend’s house, Kaitlyn must split her time and confront demons from her own past in order to bring her sister home.

The small mountain town of Big Bear Lake is only three hours away but a world away from her life in Los Angeles. It’s the place she grew up and the place that’s plagued her with lies, death and secrets.

As Kaitlyn digs deeper into both cases, she finds out that appearances are misleading and few things are what they seem.

A murderer is lurking in the shadows and the more of the mystery that Kaitlyn unspools the closer she gets to danger herself.

Can Kaitlyn find the killer and solve the mystery of her sister’s disappearance before it’s too late?

Girl Lost (Kaitlyn Carr #2)

Goodreads Blurb:

Don’t save me…

A newlywed with a secret pregnancy goes missing after a business trip. Her husband isn’t very concerned.

Why didn’t he want to report her missing? Where is she? Why was she keeping her pregnancy a secret? Detective Kaitlyn Carr has to get to the truth.

But back home in Big Bear Lake, her thirteen-year-old sister is still missing and now her friend has disappeared as well under very similar circumstances. The FBI is called in and the agent assigned to the case is none other than Luke Galvinson. But the last thing Kaitlyn needs is a man from her past.

Kaitlyn must not only split her time between these cases but also go further down the rabbit hole of the place she once called home.

A Mother for Christmas

Goodreads Blurb:

Decker Davenport is on a deadline. He has thirty days — Christmas Eve, to be exact — to remodel a St. Augustine Victorian house or the owner will put it back on the market. Not a good time for Decker’s decorator to take off on a honeymoon, leaving him with Annalise Owens, a stand-in with a malaise he isn’t privy to.

But as he watches Annalise work miracles on the house and his daughter, he realizes the two of them have bonded in some ethereal way, as if they’ve always known each other.

As Christmas Eve approaches, Decker still sees the curious malaise in Annalise’s eyes. A haunting that even his kiss can’t take away. What secret does the new woman in his house possess? And will learning Annalise’s secret bring him and his daughter joy, or tear their world apart?

Christmas and Other Things I Hate (Things I Hate, Book 1)

Goodreads Blurb:

Jane McMahon hates Christmas and this year is no different.

After losing her dream job, Jane reluctantly heads home to face her family for the holiday season.

She is determined to make it through the holidays with as little drama as possible, especially as she has to face her newly engaged, ex-boyfriend. Unfortunately, that’s easier said than done as his bride-to-be happens to be Jane’s younger sister.

When Jane offers to swap seats with Helen Childers on their flight, neither of them could predict just where this simple act of kindness would lead them.

Helen is in a rush to get home and spend the holidays with her mother but with her plans shrouded in secrecy, things may not be as simple as they seem.

The women agree to accompany each other on their journeys home and soon realise that’s there’s more than just the warmth of Christmas spirit between them. On their trip, sparks begin to fly and an unexpected connection is struck; resulting in an unforgettable road trip, filled with enough mayhem and magic to make this a Christmas that neither of them will ever forget.

Winter's Fury (Furyck Saga, #1)

Goodreads Blurb:

IN A WORLD RULED BY MEN, ONE WOMAN WILL RISE

She was their greatest warrior; the daughter of the king. But her uncle stole the throne and sent her away to marry Eadmund, the drunken son of their worst enemy. Now she must pick up her sword again to restore her family’s honour and return to the home she loves.

Despite her skill with a sword, her prowess in battle, and her reputation as the greatest warrior in Brekka, without her father to protect her, Jael was merely a pawn, a woman to be married off so her uncle could forge an alliance to fulfil his own desperate ambitions.

Eadmund is broken hearted, tortured by the murder of his first wife, but his father had lost patience with him. He wanted heirs for his kingdom. He wanted his son back, restored to the fierce warrior he had once been. And when his daughter has a dream about Jael, the woman who would save him, he eagerly jumps at the opportunity to make an alliance with his worst enemy.

Jael and Eadmund will fight against their union, but the dreamers know that this marriage is meant to be; it must happen for the sake of all Osterland. For without them… without Jael and her sword, without Eadmund by her side, the five kingdoms will not survive the darkness that is coming to claim them all.

The Watchmaker's Daughter (Glass and Steele, #1)

Goodreads Blurb:

India Steele is desperate. Her father is dead, her fiancé took her inheritance, and no one will employ her, despite years working for her watchmaker father. Indeed, the other London watchmakers seem frightened of her. Alone, poor, and at the end of her tether, India takes employment with the only person who’ll accept her – an enigmatic and mysterious man from America. A man who possesses a strange watch that rejuvenates him when he’s ill.

Matthew Glass must find a particular watchmaker, but he won’t tell India why any old one won’t do. Nor will he tell her what he does back home, and how he can afford to stay in a house in one of London’s best streets. So when she reads about an American outlaw known as the Dark Rider arriving in England, she suspects Mr. Glass is the fugitive. When danger comes to their door, she’s certain of it. But if she notifies the authorities, she’ll find herself unemployed and homeless again – and she will have betrayed the man who saved her life.

(I have read this one, and it is pretty good)
