I use to spend

My weekends with my aunt

Playing games

While asking honest questions

To the only person

I felt was able to

Give me the answers I needed

Protecting me from harm’s way

Sharing with me

Stories of family members

I never got to meet

Giving me my history

And my freedom

To be who I am
