July 6: Reasons Why I Love Reading I don’t think I have ten reasons, but I will try to give as many as come to mind!
Reading Helps save Jobs

For authors, publishing houses, bookshops and libraries need readers to stay open and making a living; having said that, the book market is changing, and we need to change with it.
Making Friends
Joining a book club or book group can be a way to meet people and make friends.
Book-coms
I never had the chance to go to one, but it’s the place where books and novels come to life from what I heard.
It Helped My Mind Keep Travelling While On Lockdown

Having to stay at home for days on end while on lockdown would have drove me nuts if I didn’t have books to read.
Gave Me Something To Do
I have lost my job among many people worldwide during the pandemic, and books helped me cope with the situation.
Allows Me to Go To Inaccessible Place
Since I can’t go to places where it is inaccessible for wheelchair users but through I can.
A Way To Cope Anxiety

Books have always been my go-to medicine; when I feel my anxiety creeps in, I leave everything, grab my iPad, and read. It helps my heart rate goes back to normal.
It’s not quite ten reasons, but it’s the best I could do.

RE: coping with anxiety. I lost my husband in December 2019. A couple months later, COVID came to town. If I hadn’t had books, I’m not honestly sure I could have survived both my grief and lockdown. So yeah, this, 1000000%.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

I love supporting the book industry. If it weren’t for annoying things like groceries, gas, medication, insurance, etc., I’d spend all my money doing just that!
Happy TTT!

Books as medicine, yes they really can help. And writing about mental health for example has become trendy thanks to authors like Matt Haig are helping to de-stygmatise it, which helps even more. My TTT: https://readingwithkat.wordpress.com/2021/07/06/top-ten-reasons-why-i-love-to-read/
