The Bird (Guest Post)

I hear a symphony
in the world around me
as I go through
each passing day.
From the thump of machinery
to a bird’s song,
the whisper of the wind
and the hum of tires on asphalt.
Everything in the world
makes a song
for those who listen,
A quiet tune
born of an invisible creator
unique to the world
you wander through.
Sometimes I only catch
bits and pieces
as I focus on other things.
But on rare occasions
I’m able to sit
and enjoy the magic
of the world’s music
played in a concert
just for me.

Guest Bio:

Joe Stout is a poet and the author of multiple compilations, including his most recent release Natural: Poems About Nature. He lives in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains with his fiancĂ©, Anna; their overlord, Eddie the cat; and an overeager security team, Toby and Teagan (a min-pin and a dachshund). When he’s not trying to find a way to use his writing talents to become insanely rich, Joe can be found exploring the mountains with bluegrass spilling out his car’s open windows or binging Netflix and Youtube.

In addition to his compilations, Joe’s poetry can be found on his website, jstoutwriting.wordpress.com. He also has an Instragram, @jstoutwriting, and can be found on Facebook @Joe Stout Writing.
