Hey People,

You might not believe this, but after blogging for nearly 3 years, I’m getting a bit of blogger burnout. However, the thought of not doing this for a month gives me anxiety that I can’t have in my life. Don’t give wrong I don’t blog for money, as a matter of fact, I never got a cent from blogging.

Daily blogging gives me an out from whatever I have going on in my life. I have this idea that ones in a while I do poetry month. My readers seem to like it, and it gives me a break from the research that goes into writing a post. So, what do you think should I do for February? Let me know!

  1. 🙂 You might as well do whatever it is that makes you happy. After all, it is your blog; therefore, you have the freedom to publish anything on it that you like as often or not as often as you like.

February (like any other month of the year) should be a good month for blogging.

  2. I’ve been blogging for nearly 11 years. I do it for my own satisfaction and to pass along whatever kidslit knowledge I’ve picked up along the way. Burnout happens and it’s important to take a break. If you don’t, you end up frustrated and unhappy, wondering why on earth you bother.
Remember, you’re your own boss here. There’s no one to tell you to get back to the blog but you. Set yourself a break time (yes, February is good.) And when you come back, you’ll have your energy and enthusiasm back. Your blog will still be here and so will we.

  3. I always find taking a little break works as a much needed detox. I personally try not to hold myself to a deadline, for example ‘I am not blogging for 10 days’ as I find that makes me super anxious as the 10th day approaches and I feel the need to get back right into it. But yeah, every now and then, I take a wee little break, and then inspiration strikes at the most random times and I end up writing 4-5 posts which I publish over the next few weeks 🙂 I hope that made sense. Good Luck 🙂

  4. I like that you’re already thinking about February. Phew…I still need to get thru Jan! lol. In all seriousness though I completely understand the idea of not wanting to take a break. I too find my blog a great place to have a chat with myself and with others. I’d miss that. BUT I also understand the burnout. Taking care of yourself–both physically and mentally is imperative. Maybe don’t stop altogether but blog a little less and rebuild your momentum. I know you’ll find a way.
RE: February. It’s the shortest month of the year. Why not make that your theme? Six word stories? haiku? short poetry? A discussion of the shortest bridge in the world…..

  5. I totally relate to this! Although my blogging began only in September, I’ve been writing for years now. When I face burnout, I just write 1 or 2 lines expressing my mood right then. If you think this expression can qualify as a post, do try it! You won’t miss a single day and still be able to give your ‘writer’s mind’ the much-needed break! Just a great picture from crowd source and 1 or 2 lines – this keeps my OCD at bay!
